Solo Travel Review: Germany – France – Italy in November 2025
Quick verdict: Germany was the easiest for visa approval and felt orderly and friendly; France remained the most beautiful cityscape despite some street issues; Italy offered the best, most affordable food with highlights in Naples, Sorrento, and Positano — Venice and Rome are worth visiting because of their fame.
Overview (trip timing)
Traveling in November falls in the low season, so the cities were quieter and more relaxed, making sightseeing more comfortable and less crowded.
Germany
Visa and practicalities: Visa was easy to get and approval felt straightforward.
Impression: Not as visually striking as France or Italy, but very tidy, well-organized, and people were friendly.
France
City beauty: Despite some visible street problems — notably more homelessness and dog fouling in public areas — Paris (and French cities visited) remained the most beautiful and the favorite stop of the whole trip.
Italy
Food and cost: Food in Italy was the tastiest and notably cheaper (about half the price compared with Germany and France).
Destinations: Venice and Rome are must-see for their global fame and historical importance, but the traveler's favorite region was around Naples — especially Sorrento and Positano for atmosphere and charm.
Practical tips from this trip
- Expect quieter attractions: November low season means fewer tourists and more relaxed visits.
- Food budget: Plan to eat more in Italy if you want great food at lower cost.
- City walking: In France, be ready for occasional street untidiness; keep small hand sanitizer and tissues handy.
