A Review of Riveria City Kuala Lumpur Sentral: A Budget-Friendly Stay with Great Views

Riveria City Kuala Lumpur Sentral: A Studio Stay Review (August 9-10, 2025)

This relatively new residence, nestled in the vibrant Bangsar area on Jalan Tun Sambanthan, offers a convenient urban escape. My booking through the Trip.com app secured me a studio room for RM165.37, a price that impressively included taxes but excluded breakfast. With a multitude of hosts available, I opted for Archos, drawn by their more budget-friendly rates.

Arrival and Check-in Experience

Arriving at 3:40 PM, I proceeded directly to the Archos counter located in the lobby. The lobby itself is compact, and upon my arrival, it was bustling with guests eager for check-in. The process was swift, though a RM200 deposit was required by the host. I was then handed two access cards: one for the building and its facilities, and the second for room entry.

Exploring the Residence and My Studio

The residence boasts an impressive 53 floors, yet with only four elevators, waiting times could be a bit slow during peak hours. However, once inside, the elevators moved with impressive speed. My studio was situated on the 43rd floor. At 297 square feet, it felt cozy, with a minimalist interior design. Immediately to the right upon entering was the kitchenette, equipped with a sink and an electric hob. Kitchenware was neatly tucked away in drawers. A generously sized refrigerator stood adjacent to the kitchen area. Nearby, an open space provided storage and hanging space for clothes, along with an iron and ironing board.

Room Amenities and City Views

The room featured a slightly compact queen-sized bed. To its right, a desk and chair offered a dedicated workspace. A bedside lamp sat atop the desk. Along the wall opposite the foot of the bed, a long table spanned the width, with an additional chair to its right. Centered on this table was a 40-inch Smart TV. By the window, to the left of the bed, a comfortable seating area provided a perfect spot to relax and soak in the stunning panoramic views of Kuala Lumpur city, a truly captivating aspect of my stay.

Bathroom Features

The bathroom was located to the left of the entrance. A sink served as the centerpiece, positioned between the toilet on the left and the shower area on the right. The toilet featured a bidet spray, while the shower offered two types of showerheads. Hot water was available, but only with the handheld showerhead. Both the toilet and shower areas were somewhat narrow.

Connectivity and In-Room Entertainment

The host provided complimentary high-speed WiFi, boasting download speeds of up to 309 Mbps and upload speeds reaching 350 Mbps. Cellular reception, however, was less robust, likely due to the 43rd-floor location. CelcomDigi offered speeds of 46 Mbps, while Tune Talk clocked in at 27 Mbps. The Smart TV, while present, did not include free-to-air channels. I was pleased with the water pressure in the bathroom.

Residence Facilities

A significant draw for choosing this residence was its breathtaking rooftop swimming pool, located on the 53A floor. The main pool was generously sized, complemented by a smaller adjacent pool. The pool area was accessible from 7 AM to 10 PM. The residence also features a gymnasium on the 53rd floor, and on the 30th floor, guests can find a lounge area and dedicated spaces for work or reading.

Check-out Process

Checking out was straightforward: a return to the counter to hand in the access cards and retrieve the deposit.

Location and Value Proposition

Riveria City Kuala Lumpur Sentral presents a compelling option for a Kuala Lumpur visit, provided you're patient with the elevator waits. The affordable pricing and highly strategic location in the heart of Bangsar are significant advantages. The building is mere meters from the Tun Sambanthan Monorail Station, offering easy access to KL Sentral either by foot or a short monorail ride. For those who appreciate captivating city vistas, this residence is an excellent choice.

Room Cleanliness and Minor Points

My studio room was spotlessly clean, although it offered only basic amenities. The host provided bath towels but no toothbrushes. The absence of a bath mat meant the floor became a little damp after showering. While the number of power sockets was limited, the host kindly provided an extension cord. Considering the overall experience, it was certainly worth the price paid. I would likely return, though perhaps during a weekday next time, as my visit coincided with some hazy weather with an Air Quality Index of 80.

Additional Information

Check-in time for this host is 3 PM, and check-out is at 11 AM. Late check-in before 3 PM incurs a RM50 per hour fee (subject to availability). Similarly, late check-out after 11 AM is charged at RM50 per hour.
