Riveria City Kuala Lumpur Sentral: A Stylish Studio Stay in Bangsar (August 9-10, 2025)
This recently opened residence offers a fantastic base in the vibrant Bangsar area, located conveniently on Jalan Tun Sambanthan. I booked my stay through the Trip.com app, opting for a studio room for RM165.37. This price was inclusive of taxes but didn't cover breakfast. It's worth noting that Riveria City has numerous hosts, and I chose Archos due to their more competitive pricing.
Arrival and Check-in Experience
Upon arriving at the residence at 3:40 PM, I headed straight to the Archos counter situated in the lobby. The lobby itself is quite compact, and at the time of my arrival, it was bustling with guests checking in. The check-in process was swift, and Archos required a deposit of RM200. I was then provided with two access cards: one for building and facility access, and the second for room entry.
Room Features and Comforts
Riveria City stands at an impressive 53 floors, yet it's served by only four elevators. With the high volume of guests, waiting times for the elevator can be a bit extended, though the elevator journeys themselves are remarkably fast. My studio room was located on the 43rd floor. Measuring 297 square feet, it felt cozy, featuring a minimalist interior design. As you enter, a well-equipped kitchenette is to your right, complete with a sink and an electric hob. All necessary kitchenware is neatly stored in the drawers. A generously sized refrigerator stands beside the kitchenette, with an open storage and hanging space adjacent to it, perfect for stashing belongings and hanging clothes. An iron and ironing board are also provided.
Sleeping and Working Spaces
The room houses a queen-sized bed, which is on the smaller side. To the right of the bed, a convenient work desk and a chair are provided for those needing to catch up on some work. A bedside lamp sits atop the desk. Along the wall opposite the foot of the bed, a long console table stretches out, with an additional chair to its right. Centered on this table is a 40-inch Smart TV. By the window, to the left of the bed, a comfortable seating area offers a lovely spot to relax and enjoy the stunning city views of Kuala Lumpur from my room.
Bathroom Amenities
The bathroom is positioned to the left of the room's entrance. It features a sink situated centrally, with the toilet on the left and the shower area on the right. The toilet area includes a bidet spray, and the shower offers two distinct showerhead options. Hot water is readily available, but only when using the handheld showerhead. Both the toilet and shower spaces are somewhat narrow.
Connectivity and Inclusions
Archos provides complimentary high-speed WiFi, boasting impressive download speeds of up to 309mbps and upload speeds reaching 350mbps. Mobile network coverage was a bit weaker, possibly due to my room's high 43rd-floor location. CelcomDigi offered speeds of 46mbps, while Tune Talk clocked in at 27mbps. The Smart TV is a nice touch, though it doesn't come with free-to-air channels. I was particularly pleased with the water pressure in the bathroom.
Facilities and Views
One of the primary reasons I chose this residence was its spectacular rooftop swimming pool, offering breathtaking city panoramas. Located on the 53A floor, the main pool is quite large, complemented by a smaller adjacent pool. The pool is open daily from 7 AM to 10 PM. Beyond the pool, the residence also features a well-equipped gymnasium on the 53rd floor. On the 30th floor, there's a relaxation lounge and a co-working space for guests who wish to work or read in a quiet environment. To check out, guests simply need to return their access cards to the counter and retrieve their deposit.
Location and Value Proposition
Riveria City is a solid choice for a Kuala Lumpur stay, especially if you don't mind the occasional wait for the elevator. The accommodation offers excellent value for money, and its location is incredibly strategic, placing you right in the heart of Bangsar. The building is just a stone's throw from the Tun Sambanthan Monorail Station, making it easy to reach KL Sentral either by a short walk or a quick monorail ride. For those who appreciate magnificent city skylines, this residence is a definite contender.
Room Cleanliness and Minor Considerations
The studio room I stayed in was exceptionally clean. However, it provided only the basic essentials. While bath towels were supplied, toiletries like toothbrushes were not. The absence of a bath mat meant the floor became slightly wet after showering. The number of power outlets was limited, but the host thoughtfully provided an extension cord. Considering the overall experience, it was truly worth the price I paid. I would likely return, although the recent hazy weather with an AQI of 80 made the air quality noticeable. I'd plan my next visit for a weekday rather than a weekend.
