A Kuala Lumpur Staycation: Review of Riveria City Kuala Lumpur Sentral

A Stay at Riveria City Kuala Lumpur Sentral: A Cozy Studio Experience

Exploring Riveria City Kuala Lumpur Sentral

Recently opened and nestled in the vibrant Bangsar area, specifically on Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Riveria City Kuala Lumpur Sentral offers a modern urban escape. I booked my stay through the Trip.com app, opting for a studio room that came in at RM165.37. This rate was inclusive of taxes but didn't cover breakfast. The residency boasts numerous hosts, and I chose Archos for their more competitive pricing.

Arriving at 3:40 PM, I headed straight for the Archos counter, conveniently located in the lobby. The lobby itself is quite intimate, and upon my arrival, a bustling crowd was in the process of checking in. The check-in procedure was swift, and Archos required a deposit of RM200. I was issued two access cards: one for general building and facility access, and the second to enter my room.

Inside My Studio Retreat

This impressive residency stands at 53 floors, yet it's served by only four elevators. With the high volume of guests, waiting times for the elevator could be a bit lengthy, though the elevator's travel speed was commendable. My studio was situated on the 43rd floor. Spanning 297 square feet, the space felt cozy, complemented by a minimalist interior design. Immediately to the right upon entering the room, a compact kitchenette area greeted me, complete with a sink and an electric stove. Kitchenware was neatly tucked away in drawers. A generous-sized refrigerator stood adjacent to the kitchenette. Next to the fridge, an open area provided storage and hanging space for clothes, along with an iron and ironing board.

The room featured a queen-sized bed, which was on the smaller side. To the right of the bed, a dedicated workspace with a desk and chair offered a convenient spot for catching up on office tasks. A bedside lamp was positioned on the desk. Along the wall opposite the foot of the bed, a long table was set up, with an additional chair on its right side. Centered on this table was a 40-inch Smart TV. By the window, to the left of the bed, a comfortable seating nook invited relaxation. The view from my room was truly captivating, overlooking the sprawling Kuala Lumpur cityscape.

Bathroom and Amenities

The bathroom was located to the left of the room's entrance. It featured a sink positioned centrally between the toilet on the left and the shower area on the right. The toilet had a bidet spray, and the shower offered two different spray settings. Hot water was available, but only when using the handheld showerhead. Both the toilet and shower spaces were a bit compact.

My host provided complimentary, incredibly fast Wi-Fi, with download speeds reaching an impressive 309mbps and upload speeds hitting 350mbps. Mobile network speeds were somewhat slower, likely due to my room's high elevation on the 43rd floor. CelcomDigi offered speeds of 46mbps, while Tune Talk registered at 27mbps. The host included a Smart TV but no free-to-air channels. I was quite satisfied with the water pressure in the bathroom.

Rooftop Oasis and Facilities

One of the primary reasons for choosing this residency was its stunning rooftop swimming pool, offering breathtaking city views. This beautiful pool is located on the 53A floor. It's a generously sized pool, with a smaller, adjoining pool area also available. The pool is open daily from 7 AM to 10 PM. Beyond the pool, the residency also houses a well-equipped gymnasium on the 53rd floor. On the 30th floor, guests can find a relaxation lounge and a quiet space for work or reading.

For check-out, guests simply need to return their access cards to the counter and retrieve their deposit.

Strategic Location and Value

If you're planning a trip to Kuala Lumpur, this residency is a worthy consideration, provided you don't mind the occasional wait for the elevators. The pricing is budget-friendly, and its location is exceptionally strategic, right in the heart of Bangsar. The building is mere meters away from the Tun Sambanthan Monorail Station. Reaching KL Sentral is an easy walk or a short monorail ride. For those who appreciate panoramic city views, this residency is an excellent choice.

Regarding my specific room, it was impeccably clean, though it provided only essential amenities. My host supplied bath towels but no toothbrushes. The absence of a bath mat meant the floor became slightly damp after showering. While the number of power sockets was limited, the host did provide an extension cord. Considering the overall experience, it represented excellent value for the price paid. I might consider returning, though the recent visit was marred by hazy weather with an AQI of 80. I would likely choose a weekday stay over a weekend to potentially experience a quieter environment.
