Singapore Trip: Budget, Itinerary, and Tips for Families

Singapore Trip: Budget, Itinerary, and Tips for Families

🌸 Hello everyone, my family just had a fun and smooth Singapore experience trip right before Tet, so I want to share it for those who want to go but aren't confident enough to pack their bags and go independently!

☘️Before going, I searched everything on Google and downloaded the Singapore MRT Map Route app from the App Store. Luckily, we didn't get the MRT wrong and could even estimate our travel time 😄
☘️ My family: 4 people: 2 adults + 1 15-year-old child and 1 6-year-old child.
☘️ Declare electronic entry form and health declaration on the ICA website within 3 days (for example, if flying on the 25th of Tet, declare on the 23rd).
☘️ English: simple communication
☘️ Flight tickets: booked ourselves on VietJet's website, round trip for 4 people about 22 million something (departure on 25th Tet and return on 28th Tet). During Tet, ticket prices are nearly double
☘️ Hotel and amusement park tickets: after browsing for info, I found ketnoisingapore site, initially not very trusting but after researching, decided to book there. During and after the trip, realized the enthusiasm and thoughtfulness of the staff beyond expectations. Hotel and amusement areas about 25 million but got 3 SIMs as gifts, support to borrow EZ-link cards, 4 Sky strain tickets, 4 light meal vouchers at Sentosa

  • Hotel: stayed at V hotel triple room in Lavender area, from airport to hotel about 30', same MRT line (green line) so less travel time. Only realized convenience on return: near MRT, has Toast box, Mc Donald, Breaktalk, King Burger and a small food court. Total 3 nights about 13.5 million
  • Amusement areas: total about 12.5 million for the whole family including: Harry Potter, aquarium, water music and Singapore zoo
  • SIMs: 2 physical SIMs + 1 eSIM. eSIM installed in VN and activated upon arrival in Singapore. Physical SIMs picked up at Cheers store near immigration in Terminal 4.

🌸 Day 1: Flew at 9:15' arrived Sing after 12:00, automated entry procedures simple and very fast. Found Cheers store to get 2 physical SIMs, then took free airport bus to Jewel for lunch and stroll. To take MRT to hotel, go to level 2 with pedestrian bridge connecting from Jewel to terminal 2. Checked in hotel, family rested, 16:00 took MRT to sister's place in Jurong East to visit.

🌸Day 2: Family left hotel at 8:00, breakfast at Toast box then MRT to Vivo City. From Vivo City skytrain to Sentosa, whole family played until 20:00 then back for dinner. Sing's aquarium and water music compared to Phu Quoc, each has its charms, since already in Sing should try it.

🌸 Day 3: Took Grab to Singapore Zoo because MRT requires bus combo, about 1 hour and lots of walking to enter zoo. Zoo 15km from our stay, nearly 40SGD cab fare, Sing zoo cool and clean. Brought hat but no chance to wear 😄. After playing, Grab to Takashimaya Orchard to play and lunch, strolled bookstore. When I went, Library Orchard temporarily closed so couldn't go in for photos. Evening to China Town for dinner and photos at Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, strolled China street (watch your wallet as there are pickpockets) then back to hotel.

🌸 Day 4: Before checkout, family up early for breakfast then to Merlion park for photos, back to hotel checkout at 11:00 and left luggage at hotel to continue to Bugis to play and lunch at Swensen. Bugis area also chaotic so be careful, 13:30' family MRT to airport back to VN.

🌸 I wrote a bit long, hope it helps those who want to go to Singapore! Total damage about 60 million for the trip, MRT and Grab total 180SGD 😄
