See the Total Lunar Eclipse Over Hong Kong March 3

[Lunar Eclipse to Occur in Hong Kong Sky on the Evening of March 3]
Hong Kong sky will witness a total lunar eclipse on March 3 (Tuesday) evening. If weather permits, citizens can observe the total lunar eclipse process with the naked eye. Locations facing east with no obstructions are suitable for viewing this lunar eclipse.

This lunar eclipse will begin before moonrise, so the moon will rise already eclipsed. The moonrise time that evening is 6:22 PM. Before moonrise, part of the moon will have entered Earth's umbra. At 7:04 PM, the moon will fully enter Earth's umbra, marking the start of the total lunar eclipse. The maximum eclipse occurs at 7:34 PM, and the moon begins to exit Earth's umbra at 8:03 PM. The total eclipse phase lasts 59 minutes, during which the moon will not completely disappear from view but will appear dark red. This is because the blue wavelengths in sunlight are scattered when passing through Earth's atmosphere, and the remaining red light is refracted onto the moon's surface. The entire lunar eclipse process will conclude at 10:25 PM.
