Simple Guide to Change Alipay Language to English or Vietnamese
If you registered Alipay to use in China but did not choose your preferred language, don't worry. This guide will show you how to switch Alipay to English or Vietnamese quickly and easily.
Important note: It is recommended to use English, because the Vietnamese translation may still contain some Chinese text, while the English version is more complete and accurate. If you want to book train tickets, you can use the TRIP app for more convenience.
1. Choose Language When Registering Alipay
If you have not registered an Alipay account yet, follow these steps:
- Tap the second Chinese word at the bottom of the screen.
- Select the first line (English).
- In this section, you can also choose Vietnamese. However, it is recommended to use English for the best experience.
Note: Not every part of the interface will be fully translated into English or Vietnamese. Changing the language mainly helps you handle common tasks more easily, such as adding a bank card or scanning QR codes. For more complex tasks like booking train tickets, you can combine this with tools like Google Gemini or other AI apps to translate the screen when needed.
Another important tip is to buy a SIM card that allows access to Google services while you are in China, because local Chinese SIM cards usually do not support Google.
2. Change Alipay to English/Vietnamese After Registration
If you already registered and are using Alipay in the default language, follow these steps to change it:
- Tap the Account icon (person silhouette) at the bottom.
- Select the gear icon (Settings) at the top.
- Tap the 8th line to open general settings (gear icon).
- Select the 2nd line (Language) to change the language.
- Here you can switch to English or Vietnamese.
Reminder: Keep in mind the important notes above so you can have the smoothest possible experience when using Alipay.
3. Tips for Using Alipay Smoothly in China
To make sure everything works well when you are in China, you should:
