On this day, after the Petit Palais, we headed to the bus stop to go to the Paris Museum of Modern Art by bus. ...But, there's no bus stop??
We went back and forth while looking at Google Maps, and found the bus stop in the photo 😅
However, no matter how long we waited, the bus didn't come.
We gave up and took another route, crossing the Alexander III Bridge, and found that the road was blocked due to some agriculture-related demonstration. Maybe that's why the bus from the opposite shore wasn't coming.
Even though I knew I could walk along the Seine, my feet hurt so much that I gave up on the Museum of Modern Art. (Thinking back now, I should have just called an Uber.)
On another day, when returning from the Orsay to Saint-Paul, I thought I got on the "bus from Rue de Rivoli toward the Seine," but hmm, no matter how long it took, it wasn't crossing the Seine... and then I realized it was heading in a completely unfamiliar direction 😨
Eventually, the next stop was announced as Denfert-Rochereau. "That's the place we went to the catacombs with the family before!" Since I remembered the name, I hurriedly got off. Then took the metro home.
Since I wasn't feeling well from Orsay onward during the return trip, I must have been dazed and made a mistake... It's still a mystery.
I like taking buses in Paris.
It feels safer than the metro, and just looking out the window from the moving bus is sightseeing in itself, so I use buses wherever possible.
However, due to sudden strikes, route changes, not stopping at the expected bus stop, and of course traffic jams, I recommend it when you have plenty of time in your heart 😌
