Samgakbong Shelter is the last rest area/shelter along the Gwaneumsa Trail. It is the checkpoint for climbers to proceed to the summit of Mount Hallasan.
For October to March, the cut-off time is 11:30am and from April to September, it is 12:30pm. Refer to photo attached below.
Climbers who arrive at this checkpoint later than the above stated times are not allowed to proceed to the summit.
There is a roofed shelter and toilet here. It is clean and well-maintained by the park authorities.
