Vatican's 100 Nativity Scenes Exhibit Lights Up Christmas 2025
The Vatican kicked off its stunning "100 Nativity Scenes" exhibit at 4:00 PM on December 8 under the iconic Bernini colonnade on the left side of St. Peter's Square. This symbolic space transforms hundreds of nativity scenes into breathtaking works of art, ushering in the 2025 holiday season.
A Meaningful Opening Ceremony
Archbishop Rino Fisichella led the opening, celebrating Christmas traditions, igniting hope during the Holy Year, connecting cultures through art, and preserving Catholic educational values for communities everywhere.
132 Scenes from 23 Countries
This year's exhibit features 132 nativity scenes from Europe, Asia, and the Americas—including Italy, France, Poland, the US, Japan, Brazil, the Philippines, and Indonesia. Artisans crafted them from unique materials like Japanese paper, silk, wool, banana fibers, and glass, showcasing faith and cultural heritage.
High-Tech Immersive Experience
Urban Vision Group elevated the visit with massive LED screens at the entrance, delivering jaw-dropping visuals that deepen the Christmas spirit for every guest.
