Service Requirements
The in-town check-in service applies to:
- Passengers flying on China Airlines or Mandarin Airlines (excluding codeshare flights with other airlines or flights to Vancouver)
- Same-day flights only
- Check-in must occur at least 3 hours before departure
The Process
Step 1: Self-Check-In Area
Find the airline's self-check-in machines and scan your passport or booking code to print your boarding pass and baggage tag.
Step 2: Baggage Size Confirmation
Place your suitcase in the standard size frame to verify it meets requirements. If it fits within or is smaller than the frame, proceed to the next step. If it's larger, you'll need to check it in at the airport instead.
Step 3: Self Bag Drop Area
Attach the printed baggage tag to your suitcase and place it on the conveyor belt. Scan your boarding pass to let the system identify and accept your luggage.
Step 4: Baggage Security Check
Staff will conduct a security scan. Wait in this area until your name and flight appear on the screen with "SBD Complete" confirmation. This signals your luggage has been successfully accepted.
Important Limitations
In-town check-in applies only to standard checked baggage. Oversized luggage, excess weight items, special items (sports equipment, musical instruments), or carry-on luggage must still be handled at the airport.
