Smart & Budget Travel: Taoyuan Airport to Taipei City Center
Just returned from my trip, and I want to share the most convenient and budget-friendly way to travel from Taoyuan Airport (TPE) to downtown Taipei!
I found great deals by booking through Klook:
- One-way ticket: 160 NTD (Same price as buying directly)
- Round-trip ticket: 310 NTD (Saves 10 NTD compared to two one-ways)
What made it even better was bundling it with an iPass card (a rechargeable card usable for buses, MRT, bike rentals, convenience stores, etc.). My total combo purchase was 350 NTD.
The Savings Breakdown
If you purchase items separately, here is what you'd typically spend:
- Round-trip transportation: 320 NTD
- iPass/EasyCard purchase (usually requires an initial deposit/value): around 100 NTD
By choosing the Klook combo, I calculated a saving of about 70 NTD per person! Plus, during my purchase, I received a bonus 1-for-1 coupon for Starbucks. Important Travel Tip
If you plan on buying the round-trip ticket, make sure you check your departure time carefully! If your flight back is extremely early, the MRT might not be running yet (it starts around 5:30 AM). Plan accordingly so you don't get stranded!
