Binh An Church: Finding Peace in Historic Saigon

Searching for a tranquil, ancient space right in the heart of Saigon? There is such a destination, where the sound of church bells rings across a spacious campus, offering a rare serenity. This is Binh An Church, a parish deeply rooted in history with regular mass schedules, conveniently serving the spiritual lives of the faithful.

Mass Times Update (January 2025)

Sundays (5 Masses): 4:30 AM - 6:00 AM - 7:30 AM (Children's Mass) - 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Weekdays (3 Masses): 4:30 AM - 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM

A Journey of Construction and Preservation Through Trials

The Binh An Parish was officially established on May 1, 1955, adopting Our Lady of the Rosary as its Patroness. In the early days, resources were scarce; the place of worship was merely two temporary warehouses donated by parishioners.

Through continuous effort, the parish's first church building was completed in 1958. However, by 1970, the old structure began to deteriorate. With the unified contribution of the entire parish, a new, more spacious and solid church was inaugurated on April 27, 1972. To this day, this 42-meter long, 21-meter wide structure remains the heart of the parish.

The journey of construction and preservation never ceased. During the 25th anniversary (1997) and 50th anniversary (2005), the church underwent comprehensive renovations and upgrades to remain a worthy place of worship and community activity for the growing congregation.

More Than Just a Church: A Community Hub

Besides the main sanctuary, Binh An Parish also features a 800m² Parish Hall (completed in 2004), serving as a vibrant center for community activities not only for the parish but for the entire deanery.

Notably, since 2002, the campus has also housed the Binh An Passionist Community – a neat row of buildings dedicated to nuns, complete with a chapel, living quarters, and even a nursery, creating a lively space filled with love.

A Destination for Peace and Serenity

Binh An Church is not just a religious structure. It is a story of resilient faith and a strong community spirit written across generations. It is a place to find quietude, admire simple yet steadfast architecture, and feel the warmth of a closely knit community.
