A Personal Glimpse: My Photos Capture Stolen Louvre Jewels
The news of the Louvre Museum heist was utterly shocking. When I saw photographs of the stolen jewelry in the news, a thought struck me. I decided to re-check the images from my visit in February, and to my surprise, two of the items reported stolen were right there in my pictures.
I hadn't taken many photos of the jewelry during my visit, so these particular pieces must have truly stood out to me as exceptionally beautiful. It's unsettling to think that they are no longer at the Louvre, and perhaps no longer even exist in their original form. These photos have become incredibly precious.
Someone here once recommended Netflix's "Lupin" to me, and I became completely engrossed in the series. This incident felt just like a plotline straight out of that show. However, in reality, such an event undoubtedly points to various underlying security problems.
I imagine entry checks at the museum will become even more stringent. It's an unfortunate but understandable consequence.
