Sama Sama Hotel KLIA Review: A Perfect Staycation for Relaxation

Sama Sama Hotel KLIA: A Weekend Retreat by the Airport

I've been to Sama Sama Hotel KLIA many times, as it's one of my favorite weekend getaways. Formerly known as Pan Pacific KLIA, this hotel is located right next to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1. This time, I stayed in a Deluxe room.

Room Details and Booking

A Deluxe room typically costs around RM500, but I utilized a corporate rate for MAG employees, bringing the price down to RM280. This rate excluded breakfast and an 8% tax.

I arrived at the hotel around 3:10 PM and proceeded to the check-in counter in the lobby. The lobby is beautiful and spacious, with a restaurant on the same level where breakfast is served. Check-in was swift, and my room was on the 8th floor. I requested a room with a view of the Air Traffic Control Tower to watch planes take off.

The Deluxe Room Experience

The Deluxe room offers a generous 387 square feet of space. Upon entering, a large wardrobe is immediately to the right. Inside, there are hangers, two bathrobes, a safety deposit box, an iron, and an ironing board. Next to the wardrobe is a cabinet housing a mini-fridge stocked with complimentary drinks, biscuits, and chocolates. Amenities for making hot beverages are placed on top of the cabinet.

In the sleeping area, alongside a king-sized bed, there's a moderately sized sofa to the left of the bed. At the end of the sofa, near the window, sits a small round table. A spacious work desk is positioned in the left corner at the foot of the bed, complete with a chair and a reading lamp. As is common in most hotels, a 50-inch TV is mounted on the wall opposite the foot of the bed.

Bathroom Facilities

The bathroom, located to the left of the entrance, is also spacious. It features a sink, toilet, bathtub, and a shower area. A bidet is provided next to the toilet. The shower area is fully enclosed by transparent glass and is somewhat narrow, featuring only a handheld showerhead. The bathtub is of moderate size. The hotel provides a complete set of toiletries.

Hotel Amenities and Dining

The hotel boasts a swimming pool, though it is currently closed for renovation. The spa is also temporarily unavailable. However, the gymnasium, sauna, and jacuzzi are operational.

The 24-hour restaurant in the lobby is where I had dinner, trying the Tom Yum Goong, which cost RM38 and was exceptionally delicious in my opinion. The hotel also offers in-room dining with the same menu as the restaurant.

Connectivity and Other Observations

The complimentary in-room WiFi offers speeds of around 10mbps. For mobile connectivity, Tune Talk provided speeds of 347mbps, while CelcomDigi delivered 303mbps.

The hotel's free-to-air TV channels are limited and not in HD. The water pressure in the bathroom is strong, but there is no rain shower.

Overall Impression and Location

The hotel is undoubtedly beautiful, but its price point is rather high, likely due to its prime airport location. I enjoy staying here not only for its aesthetics but also for the tranquil atmosphere, perfect for relaxation and unwinding. Despite the number of guests, the hotel doesn't feel crowded, as many visitors are either transiting or seeking a peaceful break before their flights.

Sama Sama Hotel KLIA is situated adjacent to KLIA Terminal 1, and the hotel provides a buggy service for guest convenience. For those using public transport, the ERL (Express Rail Link) to KLIA Terminal 1 Station is an option. The Mitsui Outlet Park is 6.3km away for those interested in shopping.

I have included some photos taken during my stay. For reviews of other hotels, please visit my section in this group. To learn more about my staycations, follow me on Facebook. Thank you for reading!
