Introducing Routes 171 and 172

These highly anticipated bus services, routes 171 and 172, are scheduled to begin their operations on November 1, 2025. They are designed to significantly enhance connectivity and convenience for residents traveling between Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong province, and the former Ba Ria - Vung Tau region.

Route 171: Connecting Binh Duong to the City Center

Route 171 will link Phu Chanh Bus Station and the Binh Duong Provincial Administrative Center to the heart of Ho Chi Minh City at Ben Thanh. This 46km route is expected to take approximately 100 minutes per trip. The outbound journey starts at Phu Chanh Bus Station, passes through the old Binh Duong Provincial Administrative Center, and follows National Highway 13, Dien Bien Phu, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Ham Nghi, and Le Lai streets, concluding at the Saigon Bus Station (Ben Thanh).

For the return journey, buses will travel via Pham Ngu Lao, Tran Hung Dao, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Dien Bien Phu, and National Highway 13, heading back to Phu Chanh. This route will operate daily from 5:30 AM to 7:25 PM, with 42 trips a day facilitated by 8 rotating buses.

Route 172: The Extensive Vung Tau Connection

The star of the show, Route 172, stretches an impressive 97km and will take around 130 minutes per trip. This vital artery connects Vung Tau Bus Station with the Saigon Bus Station. The route journeys through the former Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Administrative Center, following National Highway 51, the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, the Saigon River Tunnel, and Vo Van Kiet Street, before reaching the old District 1 center. The return trip will navigate Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Ky Con, Vo Van Kiet, the expressway, National Highway 51, Nguyen Tat Thanh, Bach Dang, and finally arrive back in Vung Tau.

This extensive service will run daily from 4:30 AM to 7:45 PM, offering 38 trips a day with 10 buses in operation.

These two new routes, operated by Phuong Trang Passenger Transport JSC (Futabuslines), promise a comfortable travel experience. All buses on these new lines will be air-conditioned, feature distinctive orange livery, and adhere to regulated ticket pricing and approved timetables. This initiative marks a significant step forward in public transportation, making inter-provincial travel within the southern region more accessible and efficient.
