Sun PhuQuoc Airways Takes Flight: A First Look at Vietnam's Newest Airline
My inaugural journey with Sun PhuQuoc Airways felt like stepping into a fresh, exciting beginning. The subtle scent of new seats, the hint of leather, and the crisp aroma of a brand-new aircraft combined to create a truly memorable first flight experience. Sun PhuQuoc Airways officially launched on November 1st, inaugurating services from Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City to the stunning Jewel of Vietnam, Phu Quoc Island.
The cabin crew's uniforms at Sun PhuQuoc Airways immediately catch the eye. They offer a distinct departure from other carriers, evoking a sense of the refined elegance found in airlines like Emirates, yet distinctly carrying the Sun Group's unique flair. The flight was packed, and it seemed many passengers were captivated by the grace of the flight attendants. My cabin attendant, Ky Duyen, possessed a beauty that instantly brought to mind the famous actress of the same name. Her poise, from her elegant walk to her warm smile, was simply breathtaking. Her serene expression and gentle smile, coupled with a welcoming gesture, infused the flight with an undeniable sense of warmth and personality, making the journey feel truly special.
Onboard, Wi-Fi was available, though my short 40-minute flight didn't allow for much exploration of its capabilities. We were treated to delicious handcrafted French pastries and bottled water bearing the Sun brand. I learned that these delightful treats were part of the inaugural flight experience, with future offerings yet to be confirmed.
The sun beat down intensely on Phu Quoc today. While the airline begins with a fleet of three aircraft, their ambitious plan to expand to eight and then thirty planes within the next year sounds entirely achievable. Sun Group's track record suggests they possess the vision and capability to make this a reality.
With a new airline gracing our skies, passengers now have even more choices for their domestic travel. Let's celebrate this new addition and wish Sun PhuQuoc Airways a joyous ascent!

P.S. It's wonderful to see more competition emerging within Vietnam's domestic air travel market.
