A Review of Moxy Putrajaya: A Stylish Hotel Next to IOI City Mall

Moxy Putrajaya: A Vibrant Staycation Experience

Exploring the Moxy Putrajaya

This marks my second delightful visit to Moxy Putrajaya, a gem conveniently situated in IOI City Putrajaya, right next door to the bustling IOI City Mall. As part of the renowned Marriott family, this hotel officially opened its doors in February 2024. I secured my room through the Trip.com app, opting for a Corner Queen Golf View room. For context, my previous stay last May was in a Moxy Queen room. This Corner Queen accommodation came in at RM357.10, inclusive of taxes but without breakfast. My arrival at the hotel was a little ahead of schedule, around 12:30 PM. I proceeded directly to the lobi check-in counter. The hotel's lobby, located on the ground floor, is impressively spacious and beautifully designed. Despite the significant crowd due to it being a public holiday, the check-in process was remarkably swift, and the hotel staff offered exceptional service. I was fortunate enough that my room was ready, and I was promptly handed my room access card. A quick elevator ride to the 8th floor – there are five elevators in total – brought me to my temporary abode.

A Corner Queen Golf View Room Unveiled

As the name suggests, my room this time was situated at the corner of the building. It offered a touch more space than the Moxy Queen room, measuring 258 square feet compared to the latter's 236 square feet. Upon entering, the bathroom was to my right, and to the left, an open area for hanging clothes. Beyond the bathroom, a cabinet housed a mini-fridge and a safety deposit box. Above this cabinet, amenities for brewing hot beverages were conveniently placed. The sleeping area featured a queen-sized bed alongside a single sofa to its right. In the far-right corner of the room, a compact work desk and chair were provided for any work-related tasks. The hotel boasts a generous television, likely around 60 inches, positioned opposite the foot of the bed. A distinct highlight of this room type is its dual-aspect windows. One overlooks the front of the hotel, offering views of IOI City Mall and the swimming pool, while the other gazes out at the golf course.

Bathroom Comforts and Amenities

The bathroom, while compact, effectively accommodated a sink, toilet, and a shower area. An interesting detail was the toilet bowl's integrated bidet spray, with no separate hose provided. Despite its size, the shower space felt quite generous, featuring both a rainfall showerhead and a handheld option. The entire shower area was enclosed by completely transparent glass. The hotel thoughtfully provided a full set of toiletries, including a toothbrush and hand towels.

Hotel Facilities and Services

The hotel features a rather large swimming pool located on the 2nd floor, offering a pleasant view of IOI City Mall. The pool is open from 7 AM to 9 PM. While the pool area is aesthetically pleasing, I found the furniture arrangement to be a bit too densely packed. Adjacent to the pool is a 24-hour gymnasium, catering to fitness enthusiasts at any hour. For those who need to stay connected, the in-room Wi-Fi speed was impressive, reaching 67mbps. Mobile network speeds were also quite competitive, with CelcomDigi and Tune Talk offering speeds close to each other, at 419mbps and 416mbps respectively. The hotel offers a good selection of free-to-air TV channels, with most in high definition. I was particularly pleased with the strong water pressure in the bathroom, making for an enjoyable shower experience. For ironing needs, Moxy Putrajaya has dedicated ironing rooms located outside of the guest rooms. As mentioned, I opted out of breakfast this time, which is priced at RM40 per person. Parking is available, and I utilized the valet service, which cost RM26.

Perfect for OOTD and Shoppers

This hotel is undeniably beautiful and an absolute haven for those who love to take photos, especially for outfit of the day (OOTD) moments. Numerous spots throughout the hotel, including the lobby, are perfect for capturing stunning images. The lobby also features a variety of games, adding to the entertainment options. Its prime location next to IOI City Mall makes it incredibly convenient for shopping and dining excursions. However, for larger families, the rooms might feel a bit confined. For travelers relying on public transport, the hotel is approximately 9.2 km from Putrajaya Sentral. A journey via MRT or ERL to this station, followed by an e-hailing service, would be the most practical way to reach Moxy Putrajaya. I have included some photographs from my stay to give you a better visual.
