Vietjet Launches Inaugural Direct Flights Connecting Vietnam and Russia
Connecting Nha Trang to Russia's Far East
Vietjet has officially launched its first direct routes linking Vietnam and Russia, creating a seamless connection between the coastal city of Nha Trang and three major cities in Russia's Far East: Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, and Blagoveshchensk. The inaugural flights took off with great fanfare on June 15th, in collaboration with international travel partners. These flights offer a convenient travel experience with a flight time of under 8 hours, a significant reduction compared to existing connecting routes.
Boosting Tourism and Cultural Exchange
Each of the Russian destinations represents a key economic and cultural hub, serving as capitals and major urban centers within the Far East region. Vietjet's operation of these direct routes aims to address the growing travel demand between the two countries, particularly as Vietnam observes positive signs in the return of Russian tourists. During the first five months of 2025, Vietnam welcomed over 210,000 Russian visitors, with Khánh Hòa province alone attracting over 100,000, showcasing the immense appeal of Nha Trang.
Driving Economic Growth
The expansion of direct air connectivity between Russia and Vietnam is poised to fuel robust growth for the aviation and tourism sectors during the peak summer season of 2025. Furthermore, it will contribute to fostering economic, cultural, and trade exchanges between Vietnam and its international partners.
