Vietjet Soars with New Rolls-Royce Engine Order
Vietjet Selects 40 Trent 7000 Engines from Rolls-Royce
Vietjet and Rolls-Royce have officially signed an agreement for 40 additional Trent 7000 engines to power 20 Airbus A330neo wide-body aircraft. This order builds upon a contract signed at the Singapore Airshow 2024, bringing Vietjet's total Trent 7000 engine order to 80. Airbus announced the initial order this past May.
Additionally, Vietjet continues to choose Rolls-Royce's comprehensive TotalCare® engine maintenance service, helping to optimize operational efficiency and extend engine lifecycle.
Executives Celebrate Partnership
Rob Watson, President of Civil Aerospace at Rolls-Royce, stated: "Today's commitment to an additional 40 Trent 7000 engines demonstrates the airline's confidence in the combination of the Trent 7000 and the A330neo. The exceptional versatility of this aircraft-engine pairing allows airlines to serve a wide range of markets and optimize fleet adaptability. Our £1 billion investment in time on wing for the Trent family is upgrading the Trent 7000, in some cases, potentially tripling its time on wing. Vietjet is a key Rolls-Royce partner in the Asia-Pacific region, and we are proud to support them in their journey to connect Vietnam with the world through leading technology."
Vietjet Managing Director Dinh Viet Phuong shared: "We believe in Rolls-Royce as a strategic partner, supporting Vietjet in our vision to develop a new generation wide-body fleet. Investing in another 40 Trent 7000 engines in just one year demonstrates Vietjet's strong commitment to expanding international operations, particularly targeting distant markets such as Europe, North Asia, and North America. With the Trent 7000 and TotalCare service, we are moving closer to our goal of delivering a global flying experience with outstanding quality, optimal cost, and contributing to the sustainable development of the aviation industry."
