My Royal Seafood Experience: That Amazing Corn Butter Sauce!
The last time I dined at Hai San Hoang Gia (Royal Seafood), I discovered their incredibly delicious corn butter sauce. It has a rich, creamy texture similar to salted egg yolk sauce, but with a sweet aftertaste almost like buttered toast. This made it the perfect dip for bread – not at all cloying like salted egg yolk can be. I just kept eating until the bread was gone, and then ordered more!
The Hai Vuong (Seafood King) Combo
We ordered the Hai Vuong set for 999k, which included a Canadian lobster, tiger prawns, razor clams, milk snails, and corn. Everything was undeniably fresh and delicious, prepared and presented in an incredibly appealing way. The price might be a bit high for some, but almost everything is caught fresh from their tanks, so I felt it was reasonable. Three of us shared this combo along with a serving of squid rolls with water spinach, bringing the total bill to 1.5 million, or 500k per person. And that included air conditioning and attentive service.
Surprising Follow-Up
What really surprised me was that the restaurant called me 24 hours after my meal to ask for feedback on the quality of the food. This is unusual, as I've eaten at many places but rarely see restaurants call customers directly for feedback – it's usually done through apps or Zalo (automated). This personal touch is highly commendable, especially in the demanding F&B industry.
