Wyndham Grand Bangsar Kuala Lumpur: A Junior Suite Staycation (March 29-30, 2025)!
Selamat Hari Raya to all my Muslim friends! I'm back with another Raya edition staycation, kicking off my Eid al-Fitr holiday at the Wyndham Grand Bangsar Kuala Lumpur, a gem within the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts family. Originally, I booked a Deluxe Room King Bed without breakfast for RM 347.91 through the Wyndham Rewards app. More on the upgrade later – keep reading!
Location, Location, Location!
This hotel is perfectly situated on Jalan Pantai Jaya, Bangsar, right opposite KL Gateway Mall. Fun fact: it used to be the Pullman Kuala Lumpur Bangsar under Accor, but Wyndham took over and officially opened it on November 8, 2023. Interestingly, they haven't made any major renovations yet.
Arrival and Check-In: Upgrade Alert!
I left Setia Alam around 1 PM and arrived at the hotel by 2 PM. Free basement parking is available for hotel guests using your credit/debit card or Touch 'n Go. Upon reaching the lobby, I headed straight to the counter to check in (no mobile check-in via the Wyndham app, unfortunately). I was greeted warmly by Mr. Foong and Ms. Cecilia. As a Diamond Wyndham Rewards member, I got some awesome news: my room was upgraded to a Junior Suite, worth over RM700++! 🤩 Since the room was ready, I could check in an hour early. Score!
My Junior Suite Experience
The hotel has 27 floors, and my room was on the 25th floor, super close to the elevators. This spacious 657 sq ft Junior Suite has it all: a Cino capsule coffee machine, an electric kettle, and four 500ml bottles of H2O Pro water. It also features a round dining table with two chairs, a living area with a three-seater sofa and an ottoman, a round glass coffee table, and a roughly 48" flatscreen LCD TV.
- Living Room: Relaxing space with sofa, coffee table & TV
- Dining Area: Round table perfect for in-room snacks
- Sleeping Quarters: A separated sleeping area for privacy
The bedroom is separated from the living room by a full wall and door. Inside, you'll find an oval glass work desk with a super comfortable ergonomic chair and a bean-shaped sofa. The king-sized bed sits in the center of the room with two small tables, reading lamps, light switches, and a local power socket on each side. Another TV, similar to the one in the living room, faces the bed. The en-suite bathroom is fully equipped, including a bathtub measuring about 4 feet long and 2 feet wide.
Executive Lounge Perks
Since my room included access to the executive lounge on the 26th floor, I headed there around 3:45 PM for tea and some biscuits. The lounge is huge – I'd guess around 1800-2200 sq ft. And get this, I was the only guest there the entire time! After filling up, I went back to my room for a bit of relaxation.
Hotel Facilities: Pool and More!
The hotel has a main swimming pool that's 1.15m deep with a winding shape and a rather long kids' pool. The pool is open from 7 AM to 10 PM. The gym, open from 6 AM to 11 PM, is also in the same area. There's even a health consultation and management center called TheHeal Kuala Lumpur next to the pool area.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I had a super comfortable and satisfying stay at the Wyndham Grand Bangsar. The staff was amazing! That's all for my one-night review. Thanks for reading!
