SINGAPORE CONCERT TRIP REVIEW: Hotel & Travel Hacks!
Hotel Bencoolen: My Singapore Home Base
- Address: 47 Bencoolen St, #01-02 Hotel Bencoolen, Singapore 189626
- Price: S$390 (approx. 6.5 million VND) for 3 nights in a Deluxe Twin Room. I snagged this deal with bank codes and cashback – booked way back in February for the Black Pink concert!
Value for money? Absolutely! Compared to other Singapore hotels, the room felt spacious at 20m². Plus, it was a private room, no dorm life here, even though prices are similar! The walls might be a tad thin, so you might hear some noise, but thankfully, my friend and I are heavy sleepers, so it wasn't an issue.
Location, Location, Location!
The location is a HUGE win. Singapore is all about public transport, and Hotel Bencoolen is a stone's throw (30-50m) from Bencoolen MRT station and a bus stop. A lifesaver in that crazy Singapore heat! 😂
Flights with Singapore Airlines (via Traveloka)
Round-trip flights from Vietnam to Singapore on Singapore Airlines cost me S$270 (approx. 4.5 million VND). I booked through Traveloka. The flight times were perfect: 12:30 AM departure and 5:15 PM return. This gave me maximum time for a smooth check-in (most Singapore hotels have 3 PM check-in) and a relaxed airport wander after checkout.
Getting Around: Public Transport FTW!
I used the Moovit app to navigate Singapore. I also borrowed an EZ-Link card (thanks, admin!). I prioritized the shortest, most convenient routes, especially because the weather was ridiculously hot – no extra walking for me!
Concert Focus + Some Fun
Since I've been to Singapore before, this trip was all about the concert and enjoying myself. My main expenses were Skyline Luge (booked in advance from Vietnam) and eating all the delicious food!
Food Adventures
I relied on recommendations from groups and a local friend for my food choices. Check out the pics below! 👇
