Mandala Cham Bay Mui Ne: My Desert Oasis Getaway!
I stumbled upon a post showcasing the amazing waterslide at Mandala on Instagram and immediately saved it for my Mui Ne trip. So, as soon as I had the chance, I booked a 3-day, 2-night stay for some much-needed relaxation!
A Desert Castle Experience
Mandala Cham Bay Mui Ne is nestled between Mui Ne and Bau Trang, resembling a magnificent castle rising from the desert landscape. The resort features four hotel buildings and one dedicated to amenities (gym, spa). If you're staying in the first two buildings and want to head to the spa, I recommend calling for a golf cart – it's a 5-6 minute walk uphill.
Room with a View (and a Kitchen!)
My room was an Executive suite with a partial ocean view, perfect for catching the sunrise. The room was fully equipped with all the 5-star amenities you'd expect, and was designed like an apartment with a full kitchen area!
Dining Delights
Even during the week, the restaurant was quite busy. During breakfast at 8 AM, we had to wait about 5-10 minutes for a table. The food selection was extensive, offering both Asian and Western options. Even after two mornings, I couldn't try everything! Lunch and dinner are à la carte. If you're not in the mood for the resort restaurant, there are pho and rice restaurants on the first floor, as well as a MiniMart.
Pool Paradise
The pools were the highlight for me! There are five pools, not including the private pools in the higher-end room categories. The central pool has a jacuzzi system and a waterslide, along with a dedicated children's pool. There's also a water playground for kids above the pool, making it perfect for families with young children.
A Few Considerations
One minor drawback is that Mandala is about 15km from the Mui Ne center, so eating outside requires a bit of travel time. I recommend taking advantage of the dining options at the resort. Also, if you're taking a Jeep tour, there may be extra charges for visiting local spots like the fishing village, red sand dunes, and Fairy Stream.
Pro-Tips for Perfect Pics
- Central Pool Photos: Capture the best sunlight from 10:30 AM - 11 AM for full pool coverage.
- Amenities Building Pool Photos: Golden hour is your friend! Shoot from 3:30 PM - 4 PM.
- Weather Note: Mui Ne can be windy, so swimming before 5 PM is more enjoyable.
- Beach Bonus: Mandala has its own beach where you can find vendors selling fresh seafood, cooked right on the spot! A great way to end a beach day.
