Exploring The Timeless Beauty Of Hoa Lu Ancient Capital

Have you ever craved a quiet getaway, leaving behind the noisy city to find a place that is both lush green and rich with the imprints of time? Ninh Bình is already too familiar, but every time I return to the Hoa Lư Ancient Capital, I find very distinct rhythms, slow-paced and immensely romantic.

Nestled right in the middle of rolling limestone mountain ranges, Hoa Lư used to be the first capital of Vietnam's centralized feudal state. Foreign tourists often call this place an ancient capital, sounding so solemn and serene. But for me, the feeling of walking through the ancient stone gate, hearing the leaves rustle in the wind, and gazing at the flat, jade-green water is the most magical thing.

A small suggestion for those who like a local guide style experience:

Take a boat ride on the river: Don't just wander around on the shore, get into a small hand-rowed boat and let yourself drift slowly on the water. Looking at the gray limestone cliffs covered with green foliage drooping over the water's surface, the feeling is that all daily busyness simply vanishes.

Temples of King Đinh and King Lê: Step into an ancient spiritual space with moss-covered walls and solemn, upturned tiled roofs. The atmosphere here is so tranquil that you can clearly hear the sound of your own footsteps.

Enjoy local cuisine: Stop by some small eateries around the area, order a plate of crispy burnt rice dipped in fragrant mountain goat sauce with the authentic flavor of the Ancient Capital.

The experience here cannot be rushed. Walk very slowly, take a deep breath, and let history and nature embrace you completely.
