Paris RER B Closure Alert: Travel to CDG Airport via Bus or Taxi

Important Travel Alert: RER B Closures Between Paris and CDG Airport

If you are planning to travel between Paris city center and Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport on May 8, 9, 10 or May 23, 24, 25, please be aware that the RER B train line will be suspended between Gare du Nord and the airport. Travelers will need to use taxis or buses to complete their journey.

How to Navigate the Airport Transfer

If you are arriving at the airport and plan to take the bus, follow these steps for a smooth transition:

  • Take the CDGVAL (the free airport shuttle train) to Terminal 3 / Roissypole.
  • At Roissypole, you will find the main bus terminal and Navigo ticket machines.
  • A single bus fare is approximately €2.15. However, please note that a standard ticket does not allow for a free transfer between the bus and the Metro.
  • For the most convenient experience, we recommend purchasing a one-day travel pass (Mobilis) for €12.30, which offers unlimited travel across the city.

Digital Ticketing and Navigo Tips

iPhone users can save time and money by adding a Navigo card directly to Apple Wallet. This bypasses the €2 fee for a physical card. To ensure a smooth process, we recommend topping up your pass while you have a stable Wi-Fi connection, as mobile data can be unreliable in underground stations or crowded terminals.

Finding Your Bus at Roissypole

The bus station at Terminal 3 is located to the left of the Navigo ticket machines, right next to the Carrefour City. Since there are multiple bus lines serving different parts of Paris, be sure to check the signage for your specific route.

Essential Apps for Your Journey

To navigate the disruption like a local, we recommend using two apps in tandem:

  • Île-de-France Mobilités: This is the official app for the best real-time route planning and accurate schedules during construction.
  • Google Maps: Use this to track your live location on the bus. Bus stops in Paris are not always clearly announced, so following the blue dot on your map will help you know exactly when to disembark.
