Hello everyone, I just finished a 5N4D trip to Sing with 3 adults and a 6-year-old child. Before going, I scoured the page thoroughly because it was my first time traveling independently, and I was bringing my parents along. So now that everything went successfully, I'm happy and noting down what I need to remember for you all.
Before departure, I exchanged 250SGD, enough to eat for 4 people at hawker centers, buy souvenirs for everyone, I declared ICA one day in advance, passed through the gate simply, I brought scorched rice and sticky rice cake, passed through the gate fine, I was scared they wouldn't allow it before, but it's normal everyone.
Accommodation, I booked Rush Sack Inn, 500-600m from MRT, after a day of playing and being tired, 500m is still a lot, I recommend V Hotel, right at the foot is the train, much more convenient!
D1: Vietnam Airline delayed so arrived at hotel late, I initially got confused with the MRT usage spot, but when taking the free Train to city, it only went to Expo, I dazedly didn't get off, it looped back to Changi, so I realized this line just goes back and forth like that. Everyone just confidently get off, get off and see which Line you need, just follow that Line's color! Signs everywhere so I rate it super easy to navigate.
D2: I visited Sultan Mosque, Hanji Land, personally didn't like it much, because the front facade they set up stalls selling souvenirs and food so photos are obstructed everywhere, afternoon stopped by Marina to take photos with sea lions, strolled the park around there, quite cool, comfortable, riverside view very beautiful. I couldn't book Capital Spring, regret not getting in, only went to the lobby below to rest.
D3: I visited Cloud Forest, Flower Forest and Jurassic, my kid was thrilled, after visiting, downstairs there's a photo spot, wait in line about 20p, then there's a show taking photos with the baby dinosaurs, super cuteee, the babies move, they take photos then give us QR code, you go out the gate, scan the code to get the family photo, if you want pay to get the photo, I just took a photo for fun! Afternoon went to Art museum, those who haven't been, should go to this spot to take insta photos of the whole city, super beautiful. Inside Shopes there's waterfall, canal also beautiful. Art Museum has 2 areas: Future World and Light World, kids mainly like the lower floor more, because there's coloring, then animals running on the walls, this is like the light world of Gigamall Saigon, but this side's level is higher, the animals know to move in groups, somersault, play hide and seek, so looks more lively. My overall rating is okay, has places for kids to play.
D4: I went to Chinatown but it rained, but hit the 1st of Tet, so went into Buddha Tooth Relic Temple having a very big New Year ceremony, the monks gave lucky money to wish Happy New Year, ceremony solemn, devout, inside the temple very beautiful. Afternoon went to Science Center, this area extremely large, play forever not finish, full of interactive games and expanding knowledge for kids through high-level interactive games. Evening dropped by Bugis to buy souvenirs.
D5: I checked out early then went to Changi airport early, planned to explore everywhere but Vietnam Airline counter only allows luggage drop 3h before flight, so didn't have much time to explore areas inside immigration, just dropped by Rain Vortex to check in the waterfall then back to Terminal 3, those flying Vietnam Airline go straight to gate 1.
End of 5N4D journey, I think you should combine MRT and bus for movement, the exploration journey will be more wonderful, first day I didn't notice, free 2-story bus, so if you choose the right number with 2-story bus, when up to 2nd floor, the whole front screen is glass, sightseeing wonderful. And remind to bring enough medicines,… finding pharmacy quite hard, I asked but they said around Chinatown area only food stalls, no pharmacy nearby at all! All game tickets I bought entirely in Vietnam via @travelgram.vn and Klook, cheaper ticket prices and ready QR to enter directly. Travelgram also lent me ezlink cards, I only borrowed 2 cards, my 6-year-old kid passes gate free with mom, I used Apple Pay very stable, I linked with Vietinbank and Techcombank, but Techcombank card reported error here, Vietinbank used well. If you can't borrow Ezlink card then I advise use Apple Pay right away, very compact and convenient, use 5 days, save more than buying card deposit 5SGD.
P/s: On the train here remember stand on the left, to give way to those in hurry on the right okay, I see Sing people very civilized and polite, my mom and kid always got seats yielded on the train.
