Sharing the super detailed 7N6D Hong Kong - Shenzhen trip of adventure-loving people who didn't prepare anything beforehand 😂😂
As mentioned above, we didn't buy a sim card in advance, didn't exchange money, didn't buy an Octopus card. Just brought a little Vietnamese money and Visa card
- Sim card: We bought a sim at 7 Eleven Hong Kong for 33$ HKD (about over 100 🐟 Vietnamese dong only) 60GB/ 1 month
- Transportation: From the airport we took the Airport express to the hotel (about 70$hkd, paid by Visa card)
For the rest, mostly moving in the city center we took MTR and tapped with Visa card. - Food and drink: we exchanged a little cash in Hong Kong but mostly still paid by Visa card.
- Hotel:
- In Hong Kong: We booked a hotel right in Central and near Central station too, the room is a bit small but compared to the price (1.5 million/ night) and location like that it's totally okay. I put the hotel name and room view in the last photo.
- In Shenzhen: I booked a hotel opposite Yannan train station in Futian area so super convenient for moving (Tai Hua Fashion Hotel Shenzhen)
Traveling from Hong Kong to Shenzhen:
I have HK triple visa so stayed in HK for 3 days then went to Shenzhen for 4 days then back to HK to fly back to VN. The procedure is simpler than I thought:
- From HK we took MTR to Lowu border gate (about 40p). When arrived go to level 2 (Port visa), there will be a booth to take selfie then fill the form to apply for Shenzhen visa then take number, when your number is called go in to submit documents. About 30p to get results (everyone come before 9am to avoid crowds). I paid for the visa also by card (130¥).
- China sim I bought at China unicorn (100¥) right at Lowu border gate, in the MTR. Once have sim then register Alipay because almost everyone has to pay everything by ALIPAY, I took MTR also paid by Alipay (in China I only used Alipay didn't exchange cash)
