Seoul & Busan: Climate Card vs. Wowpass for Smart Travel

Small tip for Wowpass Tmoney or Climate Card in Korea

Should use both Climate Card and Wowpass (which integrates T-money) to optimize costs and convenience.

  1. In Seoul (6 days): Use Climate Card
This is a super cost-saving choice if customers travel a lot within Seoul city.
Benefits: Unlimited travel on subway (Lines 1-9) and Seoul city buses. Just over 3 trips/day and it starts to pay off (average 1 trip ~1,400 KRW).
Limitations: Cannot be used for airport train (AREX) or lines going outside Seoul like Suwon, Incheon.

  2. In Busan (2 days): Use Wowpass (Integrates T-money)
Climate Card cannot be used in Busan. Therefore, customers need a common transportation card.
Wowpass: Is an extremely powerful "all-in-one" card for tourists:
Payment: Use like a debit card to swipe for eating, shopping everywhere (even small shops that don't accept international cards).
Travel: The back of the Wowpass card has a T-money chip, used for bus/train in Busan and other cities outside Seoul.
Currency exchange: There are currency exchange machines (Kiosk) that support Vietnamese Dong (VND) directly to KRW to load onto the card.

P/s: In Jeju, you guys just use Wowpass card or get Tmoney for convenience, Visa also isn't accepted many places so it's quite convenient
