Check Taiwan's Real-Time Weather Using Live Cameras

How is the weather in Taiwan today?
Hello everyone, I'm Hùng, I've been in Taiwan for over 5 years now. If you're interested in traveling to Taiwan, you'll know there's a fact that the weather in Taiwan is extremely "capricious". Sometimes the weather forecast app shows sunny, but when you go out it's pouring rain, or it's dry in central Taipei but up in the mountains it's thick fog. Or for those of you in Vietnam who want to come travel but always have to ask questions like what the weather has been like in Taiwan lately.

To overcome this, I often use the "see it with your own eyes, hear it with your own ears" method: Observe live Cameras (CCTV) at traffic light systems, highways, and tourist spots. Most major cities and famous tourist spots in Taiwan have this camera system. It's extremely useful for those planning to move to mountainous areas like Jiufen, Shifen, or Sun Moon Lake or Alishan mountain to grasp the actual weather situation there before departing. I usually check through 2 methods with their own pros and cons:

Method 1: Through the App named 警V即r (you can copy this name to search in Appstore or CH Play okay)
This is the method I use the most because of its flexibility, just open your phone and see right away, you can save locations in the storage section, later just open it and see right away. For me, every morning before going to work, I check the actual weather once.
Strengths: Real-time updates, can view cameras at almost all intersections, major roads and highways, famous tourist spots, actual traffic conditions. Very convenient when moving.
Weaknesses: Interface mainly in Chinese, place names also written in Chinese so those who are new or traveling and don't know Chinese might find it a bit hard to search, the solution is in method 2 okay!

Method 2: Through Website (For those who are afraid of Chinese)
If you're not good at Chinese, this is the "true love". The image below the website has an English interface (which specific website you can see in the image okay), extremely easy to view and easy to search for locations/cities you want to go to.

Strengths: User-friendly interface, supports English to help you easily search place names (like "Jiufen", "Yangmingshan"...). Or search by city you want to go to. Images often have high resolution, viewing on computer is very comprehensive.
However, the weakness is not as flexible as the app if you're out on the road.
Advice from my long-term experience in Taiwan. Before scheduling a far trip, or for you from VN coming to play, please take a little time to check the cams first to know the weather for the most complete trip okay!
