Shanghai to Jiangnan: A Smooth 6-Day Trip Through China

Shanghai to Jiangnan: A Smooth 6-Day Trip Through China

🇨🇳 My First Successful Trip to China

First time manifesting successfully to China
Also my first time entering with a group visa - a 6-day 5-night journey through Shanghai and Jiangnan.
No drama, no major incidents 👉 just a smooth, beautiful, and gentle trip, and even now when I think back, I still feel nostalgic 🥰

🗓️ Day 1-2 | Shanghai → Zhen (Water Town)

Arriving at Shanghai airport in the morning, the group headed straight to the ancient town and stayed there.

✨ My Favorite Experience: Renting Hanfu (Traditional Chinese Dress)

  • Received careful consultation from body type to makeup style
  • After makeup, the shop provided a car to take me back to the town for photos
  • Bonus: hair wash, blow dry, and styling for 30 yuan 🤣, with extremely thoughtful driver service (👉 If anyone needs the shop recommendation, just inbox me)

The ancient town in the evening was quieter than I expected.
Slowing down just a bit made everything feel lighter —
no noise, no crowding.

🗓️ Day 3 | Hangzhou – West Lake & a Memorable "Fail"

In the morning, visited Qian Dao Qiao Cave 🥰
To be honest: I'd recommend people think carefully about this 😪
The first section has beautiful scenery, but the deeper you go, the more tiring it gets. Climbing so many stairs - literally 77 to 49 steps - with no light in sight 🤣. By the time we reached the top, I was so exhausted I didn't want to go anywhere else 🤣

🍁 However, the afternoon stroll around West Lake was truly "healing": cool breeze, vast lake, gentle sun,
wandering around and we caught the complete combo of yellow and red leaves, and no matter how tired, it felt worth it.

In the evening, visited Qinghe Fang Street & Wulin Night Market:
👉 Buying souvenirs here is totally my thing, moms:

  • 10 yuan per pastry pack - cheap and delicious 🥰
  • Lots of snacks - easy to eat, easy to get addicted to 🤗

🗓️ Day 4 | West Lake → Suzhou

Because I loved West Lake so much, the team didn't leave Hangzhou until afternoon 😭
We visited the Silk Museum in Suzhou 👣 checked in at East Gate 👣 strolled Qili Mountain Road in the evening.
Suzhou wasn't immediately "wow" but the more you explore, the more you feel its calm – peace – comfort.

🗓️ Day 5-6 | Suzhou → Shanghai 🚄

From Suzhou back to Shanghai, we took the high-speed train:
👉 It was so fast I didn't even finish scrolling through stories before arriving.
Shanghai lit up at night was my favorite part ✨
Bustling but not at all crowded, more comfortable than I expected.
In Shanghai, our team cycled on Anfu Road:
narrow streets, lots of trees, going slow feels very chill.
Evening strolls through the streets, eating beef noodles, snacking ...
💥 The next day, curious, I tried crab noodles: 👉 really delicious, but so much I almost passed out 🤣
Finally visited City God Temple for snacks, bought souvenirs, then headed to the airport.

✨ Honest Summary 🤗

My first trip to China was very smooth.
Not overly grand - but the kind of trip you'll remember after, and after remembering, you want to come back.
👉 Anyone preparing to go to Shanghai or Jiangnan,
if you have any questions, just comment, I'll share everything I can 🥰
🌸 Manifesting next year to see cherry blossoms or falling snow ✨
