Located right within the Caravelle Saigon Hotel, on the 9th floor overlooking the City Theater – Saigon Saigon Rooftop Bar is one of the bars with the most beautiful views and richest history in the downtown area. This place has existed for a long time and remains consistently busy.
View – This is the Main Reason to Come
Looking down is Dong Khoi Street, City Theater, Nguyen Hue Walking Street. Further away you can see Notre-Dame Cathedral. Sunset time is the most praised time – the red-orange sky reflects down on the golden dome of the Theater, surrounding high-rise buildings gradually light up. In the evening, Saigon's skyline glows, and the music echoing from the pedestrian street below adds something special.

Live Music & Atmosphere
This is a big plus. Live music every day, a lively Cuban band – I quite liked this style. The atmosphere is cozy, chill, not as loud as other bars. The clientele is mainly expats and Western tourists, mostly around 40 years old and up – the type of bar for those who want to sit and sip while watching the city at night rather than dance until late.
Drinks
There is both alcoholic and non-alcoholic menu. Signature cocktails that are frequently mentioned are Miss Saigon and Passion Fruit Sour – My friends and I often order these. If you don't know what to get, just describe it and the bartender will happily mix a shot for you.
Happy Hour – Special Plus
From 17:00, the bar offers Happy Hour menu with 50% off all drinks. If visiting Saigon for the first time, I especially recommend this. It's cheap, right at sunset time, and not yet crowded – perfect for a first visit.
Price after happy hour ranges from 200k–400k per person, depending on what you order.
How to Get There
You don't need to enter through the main lobby of Caravelle Hotel like a guest. Park your vehicle at City Theater for 10k, then walk through the hotel gate, press the elevator to the 9th floor and you're there. Much easier than many people think.
A Few Small Notes
The space inside the bar can get a bit hot when crowded. It's better to choose a balcony table or outdoor area – it's cooler and has a direct view of the pedestrian street below.
