Many friends ask how much the cost of self-guided travel to HQ is, some answer around 15 million, some double that, so I share my actual cost from the recent Xmas and Tet trip. Hard costs mainly round-trip airfare and hotel rooms.
Cost of self-guided travel to HQ. Departed on 27/12/2025 returned 4/1/2026.
- HQ Visa: 2.7tr (Multiple within 5 years self-submitted at KVAC Hanoi. Through service then Single within 90 days)
- 8.1 tr round-trip airfare including 1 piece 20kg baggage of VJ (VNA tickets during my trip too expensive) going VJ very OK. No weighing carry-on 7kg both outbound and inbound😍. Flew on time always - not late 1' at all.
- 2.7tr/night/room 3 adults at big hotel, in central Myeongdong and Busan, room spacious 25m and 34 m. Has washing machine and can borrow iron. Hotel room price already includes tax and fees. I booked on Agoda full quick cancel and guaranteed. I am VIP member so often get good price and cash back after trip quite a lot😍.
- 250k 5G SIM 7 days but on day 9 still used normally- I always buy SIM from this friend when going NN.
- 1 tr taxi round-trip from home to SB Noi Bai and back home
- 1tr transportation money (4,000KW TMonney card and 25,000KW top up used 4 days in Busan and 1 day Incheon. 3,000 KW Climate card and 10,000KW top up unlimited travel 3 days in Seoul)
- Eating then depending but lowest is noodle/rice portion 10,000KW, coffee/milk tea... same price as buying drinks at Starbuck or Highland, Phuc Long in VN. Eating at restaurant fancy grill/seafood delicious then like eating at good restaurant in HN and HCMC.
- Shopping then depending on wallet. The time my family went is grand sale so a bit worried about payment statement 15/2 coming😜😂. Buy stuff at Lotte, Oliver Young get tax deducted directly. Buy at other places remember request CH issue tax refund bill then at SB incheon or Gimhea Busan do tax refund procedure automatic at Kiosk next to check-in counter, after that when through security into inside go straight to tax refund counter (near gate number 28 at Incheon) then receive tax refund money in KW cash right away.
