Marriott Petaling Jaya (1-2/1/2026)
For the opening of 2026, I chose a hotel that has just started operating. This hotel is located in Section 16 Petaling Jaya. Previously, this hotel was known as Eastin Petaling Jaya before it was taken over by Marriott and opened on December 28, 2025. I chose a Deluxe Guest room type which costs RM616 on the Marriott Bonvoy app.
I arrived at the hotel quite early around 1:45 pm and went straight to the counter located on the ground floor. As soon as I entered the lobby, I could feel a very noticeable difference compared to the former Eastin Hotel. The check-in process only took a few minutes and the hotel does not charge any deposit. Since my room was not ready yet, I was first asked to sit.
Around 2:10 pm, hotel staff approached me to hand over the room access card. I immediately took the elevator to my room on Level 5. There are four elevators in this hotel and the waiting time for the elevator was not long because there were not many visitors yet. The room I stayed in has an area of 398 square feet and it is very different from the rooms at the former Eastin Hotel. Upon entering the room, there is a bathroom on the right side of the entrance door before reaching the bed area.
In the bed area, besides one king bed, there is a wardrobe on the left side of the bed. Inside it, there is an iron and ironing board as well as two pairs of bathrobes. There is also a safe deposit box inside. Next to this wardrobe, there is a shelf for visitors to place their bags and items. On the right side of the bed, there is a rather large long sofa. At its end, there is a round table placed. This hotel does not provide a work desk. In the right corner at the foot of the bed, there is a cabinet that houses a mini fridge as well as equipment for making drinks. A 60-inch TV is mounted on the wall opposite the foot of the bed.
The bathroom is quite spacious which accommodates a sink, toilet area, and shower area. The toilet area has a bidet hose and the shower area has a ceiling shower and handheld shower. The shower area is fully covered with frosted glass and the toilet area is covered with semi-transparent glass. This hotel provides complete bathroom amenities and they are all brand new.
The hotel's swimming pool is located on Level 3 and it is still the same as when it was known as Eastin Hotel previously. The swimming pool has a beautiful shape, as does its landscaping. The hotel's swimming pool is open from 7 am to 8 pm. Above this swimming pool, there is a gymnasium. Not only is the building still new, but the equipment inside is also all brand new. Next to this gymnasium building, there is a tennis court.
In the room, the provided WiFi is quite fast but not very stable, possibly because the hotel has just started operating. For download speed, it reaches 220mbps and for upload, 234mbps. For telco network, CelcomDigi reaches 430mbps while Tune Talk reaches 243mbps. The free TV channels are quite many and they are in HD format. The water pressure in the bathroom is strong.
Because the main restaurant located in the lobby is still not finished being renovated, breakfast is at another restaurant located behind the counter. Although it has just started operations, this hotel provides a quite extensive breakfast menu in buffet style. The nasi lemak at this hotel, for me, is one of the delicious nasi lemak.
For me, the price charged is quite expensive because the hotel is still in the renovation process and many things are not yet completed. According to the staff on duty, at this time only the rooms on Levels 4 and 5 are open, the rest are still under renovation, therefore during the day it is quite noisy.
In terms of location, this hotel is quite isolated because it is located in an office building area. There are no eateries or restaurants for visitors to eat outside, only a convenience store. However, for those using public transport, it is quite close to Phileo Damansara MRT Station, only about 500 meters away. This hotel provides parking but it is not free, visitors will be charged RM5.
I attach photos that I took during my stay at this hotel. If readers want to read reviews of other hotels, please go to my section in this group. If you want to know more closely about the development of my staycation, please follow me on Facebook. Thank you for taking the time to read 😘
