Luxury Staycation at St. Regis Kuala Lumpur: A Detailed Review

Luxury Staycation at St. Regis Kuala Lumpur: Spacious Bliss

For my next staycation, I picked a top-tier luxury hotel right next to Kuala Lumpur Sentral on Jalan Stesen Sentral 2. This Marriott Bonvoy property caught my eye, and I booked the City View King room for RM1,323 via the app.

Smooth Check-In and Grand Lobby

I rolled up around 2:15 PM and headed straight to the ground-floor counter. Next door is the St. Regis Residences. The lobby feels expansive and seriously upscale. Check-in was a breeze, with just a RM500 deposit required.

Room Tour: Huge and City-View Perfection

Grabbed my key card and hopped one of the five super-quick elevators to floor 13A (labeled as 14). At 678 square feet, this City View room is the smallest here but still massive. Right inside, there's storage for bags and hanging clothes on the right, and the bathroom on the left—both with sliding doors for that spacious vibe.

The bedroom rocks a super king bed, a long sofa by the foot, and a big coffee table facing it. To the right, a large work desk with an office chair. On the sofa's left, a cabinet hides a mini fridge and drink-making gear. A 65-inch TV hangs opposite the sofa. My view? Straight to the National Planetarium, with the National Museum peeking left and City Hall to the right.

Bathroom Goals: Luxe and Roomy

The bathroom's another highlight—sliding door entry, double sinks opposite the door, oversized soaking tub on the right, separate shower and toilet on the left. No bidet hose in the toilet (button-controlled instead), but the shower fits two heads and feels generous. Full bath amenities included, and water pressure was spot-on.

Pool, Gym, and More Facilities

Up on floor 6, the pool's pretty big, open 7 AM to 7 PM. Same level has a 24/7 gym (closed for renos during my stay), a poolside restaurant, spa, and kids' club.

Tech and Connectivity Wins

Free WiFi clocked 48 Mbps in-room. CelcomDigi hit 199 Mbps, Tune Talk 159 Mbps. Tons of free HD TV channels too.

Breakfast and Dining Highlights

Breakfast at The Brasserie on floor 2 wowed with its neat, tempting setup—maybe not the widest variety, but what I tried was delicious. In-room dining's pricey to match the room rate: think RM98 for Kampung Fried Rice or RM248 for Nasi Lemak. Bonus: personal butler service on deck.

Handy Extras for Guests

Shuttle to KL Sentral (1.5 km away) runs Monday-Thursday, 8 AM-8 PM every 30 minutes. Free parking if you're driving.

Final Thoughts: Worth It for Relaxation?

It's luxury-priced for sure, and while the room's huge, it doesn't scream "wow" for the cost—bathroom steals the show with its opulence. Opened back in May 2016, so things feel a tad dated. Perfect if you want peace, privacy, and downtime without crowds. Prime spot near KL Sentral, National Museum, and Muzium Negara MRT.
