Why I Chose This Stay

Happy Friday! For this review edition, we're heading to IOI Resort City. Back in April 2025 during the MATTA Fair, I snagged a Le Méridien Putrajaya stay voucher valid through February 2026. It was about 20-30% cheaper than the member flexible rate on the Marriott Bonvoy app, and it included breakfast for two. IOI Resort City is pretty remote with limited public transport options, so finding the right dates was tricky. Recently, Marriott Bonvoy ran a 2025 bonus points promo for stays, and I had an event nearby—perfect timing! I booked directly with the reservation team.

Check-In Experience

After my event wrapped around 1 PM, I headed to the counter to check in. It took a bit longer than expected because the receptionist had to check with the sales team about my voucher. I'd told sales during purchase that front office would hold it for pickup at check-in. The room wasn't ready yet, so they invited me to wait in the Executive Lounge on level 20.

The Room

I stayed in a spacious club room on level 18—40 sqm according to the hotel website. Views included the Moxy hotel, partial Symphony Lake, and solar panels at IOI City Mall. Perks included a free minibar with soft drinks, milk cartons, and Signature Market nuts. Of course, the super plush signature Le Méridien bed was a highlight. The bathroom had a bathtub stocked with Le Méridien's signature Malin & Goetz toiletries. Turndown service is available on request.

Club Lounge Highlights

The club lounge on level 20 serves breakfast, afternoon tea, evening cocktails, and all-day refreshments from 6:30 AM to 10 PM. Afternoon tea featured two types of biscuits (butter and chocolate chip), Danish pastries, and assorted sandwiches. Evening cocktails offered a great spread: nasi mandi, black pepper chicken, Szechuan prawns, cauliflower masala, oden, Korean chicken wings, a noodle station (seaweed or fishball noodles), ice cream, oatmeal, mini chocolate fountain, salads, fruits, pastries/tarts, and prawn fritters.

Breakfast at Latest Recipe

The breakfast buffet was impressive with Japanese, local, Indian, Western, and Chinese options. Standouts included nasi lemak with beef rendang, chicken curry, squid sambal, chicken soto with compressed rice, three soup choices at the noodle station (prawn, chicken, veggie) with various condiments, yong tau foo, roti canai, Japanese picks like assorted sushi, chicken teriyaki, mixed curry, kinoko mushroom soup, eye-opener juices, fresh watermelon juice, and a live teh tarik station.

Extra Tips

If you book direct with the hotel or Marriott Bonvoy, you can use the shuttle van from Putrajaya Sentral or KLIA. Check the schedule here.

With this stay, I've now experienced every Le Méridien location in Kuala Lumpur and greater KL—including LMKL, LMPJ, and Le Méridien Putrajaya. Where's my next #destinationunlocked?
