Vietjet Resumes Con Dao Flights: More Options for Island Getaways
As previously reported by aviation forums, Vietjet Air is back on the Con Dao route starting this November, bringing convenient direct flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Service Restart and Flight Schedule
Vietjet Air kicked off flights to Con Dao back in April 2025 but paused them mid-October. Now, they're resuming with direct routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to make travel easier, especially as the year-end peak season hits.
Initial plans pointed to a November 25 start, but flights actually launched on December 3, 2025. Each route began with one round-trip daily. By mid-December, they doubled up, and demand pushed it further to four round-trips per day total—two from each city.
Why This Matters for Travelers
The break forced northern passengers to connect through Ho Chi Minh City or Can Tho, which was a hassle. Direct flights cut travel time, save money, and open up Con Dao's pristine beaches, virgin forests, and serene vibes just in time for holiday crowds.
Expect eco-adventures like snorkeling coral reefs, watching sea turtles lay eggs, exploring historic sites, and diving into local culture.
Flight Details and Perks
- From Ho Chi Minh City: Departs 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM, arrives Con Dao 11:40 AM and 1:10 PM. Returns at 9:20 AM and 11:00 AM, lands 10:05 AM and 11:45 AM.
- From Hanoi: Departs 6:45 AM and 8:15 AM, arrives 8:55 AM and 10:25 AM. Returns at 12:05 PM and 2:00 PM, lands 2:20 PM and 4:15 PM.
Tickets went on sale November 26, with promo fares starting at 490,000 VND one-way (excluding taxes and fees). Vietjet even ran a "3 Golden Days" deal with 0 VND base fares. They're using regional jets via international partners to handle the island's tricky runway.
