A Family Staycation at Tasik Villa International Resort
This past weekend, I took my family on a trip to Port Dickson and stayed at a resort located in Lukut. According to the staff, this resort began operations in 2018. Back during the MATTA Fair in April, I purchased three vouchers for the Family Villa, priced at RM490 each (each voucher included breakfast for four adults). Because I bought three vouchers, I received an additional one for free. Later, I made another booking for a 2 Room Villa, which cost RM657 (also including breakfast for four adults).
I arrived at the resort around 3 PM and headed straight to the counter located in the main building. The lobby is quite spacious, and besides the counter, there is also a restaurant. Despite the high volume of guests, the check-in process was fast. The resort required a security deposit of RM300. Since I was checking in on a Saturday, an additional surcharge of RM90 per room was applied.
After receiving my room key cards, I proceeded to the accommodation. I managed to get four Family Villas situated in a row, while the two 2 Room Villas were located a bit further away.
Exploring the Family Villa
The Family Villa type is a two-story unit spanning 1227 square feet. The ground floor features a living area equipped with a sofa and a coffee table. There is also a wall-mounted television. To the right, there is a space housing a mini-fridge and amenities for making hot beverages. Please note that the resort does not provide a kitchen area. Beside the staircase, there is a small bathroom containing only a sink and a toilet.
Upstairs, the bedrooms are situated in two corners. The corner on the right has one king-sized bed, while the corner on the left has two single beds. The wardrobe is located centrally between them, offering space for hanging clothes, an iron, and an ironing board. Adjacent to the wardrobe is the main, relatively spacious bathroom, which includes a sink, a toilet, and a shower area. The resort provided basic toiletries, including toothbrushes for four people.
Each Family Villa unit comes with a small private plunge pool located at the back. The depth of these private pools is 1.2 meters.
Resort Facilities
The main swimming pool is located near the main building, next to the lobby. The adult pool is quite large, and the children's pool is situated alongside it and is also quite spacious.
The resort offers free Wi-Fi, but its stability was poor, reaching only about 5mbps. In contrast, my CelcomDigi mobile data connection achieved a speed of 148mbps. The television in the room was a 40-inch model offering only basic channels. Furthermore, the water pressure in the bathroom shower was not very strong, making the shower experience less satisfying.
The 2 Room Villa
For the 2 Room Villa type, it is more spacious, covering 1474 square feet. It is also split over two floors: the ground floor contains the living area and a toilet, while the upper floor houses two bedrooms, each with its own attached bathroom. This villa type also features its own private swimming pool at the rear.
Dining and Activities
Breakfast is served at the restaurant in the main building, right next to the lobby. While the menu selection was quite extensive, I only managed to try a few items. This resort is highly suitable for families due to the facilities provided. Guests do not necessarily need to leave the resort premises, as there are many activities available, such as cycling, archery, and boating on the lake. However, these activities are not complimentary.
One important point to note is that the resort is not located on the beach. The distance from the resort to Teluk Kemang Beach is approximately 18 km.
If readers are considering staying here, I highly recommend purchasing vouchers during the MATTA Fair because the price is significantly cheaper.
