Mercure Living Putrajaya: A Perfect Hotel Apartment for Family Stay

Review: Mercure Living Putrajaya Apartment Stay Experience

My recent trip took me from Teedo Hotel to Putrajaya, where I checked into a serviced apartment, the Mercure Living Putrajaya, for a stay between May 17th and 18th, 2025. The hotel is conveniently located in Menara Shaftsbury, Precinct 1, Putrajaya, right next to the Alamanda shopping center.

I arrived around 12:10 PM, but finding parking was slightly challenging due to several weddings taking place in the Menara Shaftsbury building. Once I secured a spot, I headed straight to the hotel lobby to check in.

Check-in and Room Details

The lobby is relatively small, featuring just the counter and a few sofas. The check-in process was swift, and I was immediately given my room access card since my unit was ready. I booked a One-Bedroom Apartment via Trip.com for RM220.32. This price included taxes but did not cover breakfast.

The building has seven elevators, and the waiting time was minimal. The apartment itself was spacious, covering 688 square feet, divided into three main areas: the living room, the kitchen area, and the bedroom.

Apartment Layout and Amenities

Upon entering, the kitchen area was to the left. Directly ahead was a small dining table with four chairs, followed by the living area which housed a large sofa and a 55-inch TV.

The Kitchenette

The refrigerator is situated near the entrance. A long counter runs along the wall, housing an electric stove on the left and a sink in the center. To the right of the main counter, there was a washing machine and an electric rice cooker. A microwave oven was placed above the central part of the counter. The hotel thoughtfully provided complete kitchen utensils stored within the cabinets.

The Bedroom and Workspace

The bedroom, located centrally, was quite ample. It featured one king-size bed. To the right of the bed was an open rack for hanging clothes, alongside a safety deposit box, an iron, and an ironing board.

Opposite the foot of the bed was a long desk setup with a chair, perfect for those needing to handle some office work. Another TV, slightly smaller than the one in the living room (perhaps 50 inches), was mounted on the wall above the desk.

Bathroom Facilities

The bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom and is quite compact. It includes a sink, toilet, and a shower area. The shower space was partially enclosed by fully transparent glass, offering two types of showerheads. For added convenience, a bidet spray was installed next to the toilet bowl. The hotel provided comprehensive toiletries, including toothbrushes and hand towels.

Hotel Facilities Highlights

What truly impressed me was the swimming pool, which is quite massive. It is located on Level 3 and is shared with the residential section of the building at the far end. Despite its size, the pool depth is only 1.2 meters. There is also a small wading pool for children at one end. The pool operates from 7 AM to 10 PM.

On the same level, guests have access to a 24-hour gymnasium, as well as a sauna and steam room open from 7 AM to 10 PM. Additionally, there is a 24-hour laundry room available.

Connectivity and Comfort

The complimentary in-room Wi-Fi speed was around 20mbps. For mobile connectivity, Tune Talk provided an excellent speed of 412mbps, while CelcomDigi was slightly slower at 349mbps. The TV offered basic channels plus several other channels, all in HD quality. Water pressure in the bathroom was strong, although the semi-enclosed shower space felt a bit narrow.

Final Verdict: Excellent Value

I genuinely enjoyed my stay here, not just because of the affordable price, but also due to the cleanliness and tidiness of the apartment. For around RM200, guests receive a fully equipped apartment. Furthermore, all the facilities provided are excellent for anyone looking to relax and unwind. The large pool, gym, and sauna make it a great retreat.

Mercure Living Putrajaya also offers two-bedroom apartments and suites, making it very suitable for families.

Location and Accessibility

While the hotel is situated in Menara Shaftsbury, unfortunately, only a few shops are currently operational within the building. However, guests can easily cross the road or use the pedestrian bridge connecting Menara Shaftsbury directly to Alamanda Shopping Center next door.

For those driving, complimentary parking is provided. For public transport users, the hotel is located 6.4 km from Putrajaya Sentral (accessible via MRT or ERL). I definitely plan to return to try out their suite next time.

As usual, I have included photos taken during my stay below. If you wish to read my reviews on other hotels, please visit my website at https://hanuds.wixsite.com/hanudds or check my posts in this group. Thank you for reading! 😎
