My Unbelievable Connection to the Louvre Robbery: Stolen Jewels Captured on Camera
The news of the Louvre Museum robbery was absolutely shocking. It was truly an unbelievable event.
As I saw the photos of the stolen jewelry in the news, a thought struck me. I decided to re-check the images I took during my visit to the Louvre in February, and to my astonishment, I discovered two of the items that were reported stolen were in my own pictures.
I hadn't taken many photos of jewelry during my visit, so it's clear I must have found these particular pieces exceptionally beautiful to have captured them. Now, knowing they are no longer at the Louvre, and perhaps even their physical form is no longer intact, these photographs have become incredibly precious to me.
I was recently recommended to watch Netflix's "Lupin" and became completely hooked on the series. This real-life incident felt exactly like something out of that drama. However, in reality, there must have been significant security and other issues involved.
It seems likely that entry checks at museums will become even more stringent. While it's unfortunate, it's also understandable given the circumstances.
