Bonda Valley Resort: Peaceful Sungai Staycation Near KL

My Relaxing Getaway at Bonda Valley Resort

This weekend, I headed to a beautiful resort in Batang Kali, Selangor, also known as Rumah Bonda. It's owned by Puan Rozita Ibrahim, better known as Bonda Rozita, who runs the popular Sendayu Tinggi cosmetics company. I snagged a RM300 voucher at the MATTA Fair back in April, so I booked directly with the resort.

Two Locations: Rumah Hutan and Rumah Sungai

Rumah Bonda actually has two separate spots—Rumah Hutan and Rumah Sungai—quite a drive apart from each other. I picked the Rumah Kayu Bubinga at Rumah Sungai, which costs RM587.52 and sleeps up to five adults.

Check-In and First Impressions

Even though I stayed at Rumah Sungai, check-in happens at Rumah Hutan. I arrived around noon and zipped through registration—they just needed a RM100 deposit. My place wasn't ready yet, so I grabbed lunch with friends first.

By 2:30 PM, I returned for the keys. They threw in free ice cream, drinks, and a bottle of room spray. From Rumah Hutan, we drove to Rumah Sungai to park, then hopped on the resort's shuttle since Bubinga is a bit of a hike from the lot.

Inside Rumah Kayu Bubinga: Santaliar Unit

We got the end unit called Santaliar—super close to the entrance. It's a two-story wooden house with a living room downstairs. Out back, there's a kitchen and bathroom on the right. Upstairs is a loft with a balcony complete with table and chairs for chilling. Outside, a BBQ pit awaits in the backyard.

No free WiFi, but CelcomDigi signal is strong at up to 506 Mbps. The 50-inch Smart TV has basic HD channels. Water pressure in the bathroom is great, with a water heater too. For Bubinga units, it's five foldable mattresses and pillows—no beds—so you can crash downstairs or in the loft. The kitchen stocks basics like rice, cooking oil, salt, fried rice spices, and drink mixes.

Riverside Magic and Amenities

The real highlight of Rumah Sungai? It's right by the river with crystal-clear water—rainy season made it deep and fast-flowing. Across the hanging bridge, more house types connect, including bigger ones for up to 15 adults.

No on-site restaurant at Bubinga, but you can order dinner delivery to your room. For breakfast, shuttle to Rumah Hutan's restaurant or cook at home—the kitchen's fully equipped with essentials.

Spotless Cleanliness and Great Value

I was blown away by how clean everything was—the houses, the grounds, all impeccably maintained. The vast area looks stunning and tidy. At around RM800 a night, it's totally worth it for the setup and river fun. Perfect for family relaxation and splashing in the stream.

Check-out is easy: return your keys and get your deposit back.

I snapped tons of photos—this place is gorgeous! Check my other hotel reviews in the group, or follow me on Facebook for more staycation adventures. Thanks for reading!
