ANTARA Residence by Sleeping Lion in Genting Highlands is highly recommended, especially for a romantic honeymoon getaway. Based on a recent stay, here is a detailed review covering everything from arrival to amenities.
Arrival Experience
Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a large, eye-catching origami teddy bear statue at the entrance, setting a welcoming tone. The check-in process was smooth and hassle-free, with very friendly staff.
Important Note: Be prepared with RM200-RM300 for the security deposit. Paying in cash is strongly advised over bank transfer, as retrieving a deposit via transfer can take up to seven working days, whereas cash is returned instantly upon check-out.
The Studio Suite (Fully Furnished)
The room itself is exceptionally well-equipped for a comfortable stay:
- Entertainment: Large 60-inch Smart TV and a smaller 32-inch TV.
- Sleeping & Seating: King-size bed and a versatile 3+1 sofa bed configuration.
- Bathroom Luxury: Features a spacious bathtub and built-in water heater.
- Convenience: Ample wardrobe space in every corner.
- Outdoor Space: A private balcony with a table and chairs perfect for relaxation and enjoying the views.
- Climate Control: Air conditioning and a ceiling fan—it was cool enough that turning on the A/C wasn't even necessary.
- Appliances: Iron, hairdryer, full toiletries, refrigerator, a washer and dryer combo, microwave, coffee maker, and an induction cooker (meaning you can prepare simple meals).
- Special Feature: The room even includes a Qibla indicator.
- Quality: Note that all electrical fittings are high-quality Panasonic products.
Breakfast Arrangements
Breakfast is served at a nearby eatery named Luck Bros Kopi, offering an Oriental coffee shop vibe. If your package includes breakfast, you can order specific set meals determined by the restaurant. If your package doesn't include it, you are welcome to dine there and order a la carte, though charges will apply.
The Nasi Lemak and the Roti Canai with Curry Gravy were highlighted as particularly delicious options.
Facilities and Connectivity
One of the biggest selling points of ANTARA Residence is its direct access to retail and entertainment:
- The Mall: ANTARA features a mall spread across the G and UG floors. Currently open shops include Zus Coffee, Mix Store, Gindaco, Tea Live, and Happy Potato, with many more coming soon.
- Skyworld Link Bridge: A major advantage is the provided link bridge, allowing guests to walk comfortably (about 500-600m) directly to Genting SkyWorld. The brisk walk is made enjoyable by the thick mist views and cable car scenery.
Other facilities are gradually opening. At the time of review, only the Kids Playground and Trampoline Room were operational. The Snooker Room, Dart & Bowling Room, AV Room, and Swimming Pool were still under maintenance.
Parking Details
Parking costs RM25 per day. If you stay for one night and do not leave the premises until check-out, this daily charge applies.
The Views
The views from the high floors are truly magnificent. Seeing the "cloud carpet" phenomenon is a must-do experience—it makes the stay absolutely worthwhile!
