A Fresh Stay in the Heart of Kuala Lumpur: Marriott Executive Apartments Experience
This week, I'm thrilled to share insights from two newly opened hotels, with the first being a fantastic apartment-style hotel conveniently located near the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC). Opening its doors on August 14th, I booked a 1 Bedroom Apartment through the Marriott Bonvoy app. My stay, priced at RM456.00 which included breakfast for two, offered excellent value despite the additional 8% tax.
Seamless Arrival and Spacious Living
Arriving around 2:45 PM, check-in was a breeze. The lobby, situated on the ground floor, is refreshingly minimalist. The entire process took mere minutes, and soon I was on my way to the 19th floor via one of the five swift elevators. The wait time for an elevator was impressively short.
My 1 Bedroom Apartment, spanning a generous 699 square feet, was thoughtfully divided into three distinct areas. Upon entering, the well-equipped kitchenette immediately caught my eye to the right. It featured an electric stove, sink, cooking essentials, a large refrigerator, a microwave, and a discreetly placed washing machine. The usual coffee and tea-making facilities were also provided, a standard I've come to appreciate.
Comfortable Living and Sleeping Quarters
Adjacent to the kitchen, a dining table for four awaited, leading into a spacious living area. Two comfortable sofas and a small coffee table created a welcoming spot to relax. A 55-inch TV was mounted on the wall opposite the seating, offering ample entertainment. The living space felt expansive and incredibly comfortable, a real home away from home.
To the left, opposite the dining area, access was granted to the bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom itself was a generous size, featuring a king-sized bed. To the right of the bed, a sizeable wardrobe housed hanging space, an iron, an ironing board, and two plush bathrobes. A personal safe and a weighing scale were also conveniently located within the wardrobe. Across from the foot of the bed, a small work desk with a chair and a reading lamp provided a dedicated space for any work tasks. Another 55-inch TV was mounted on the wall here, offering dual viewing options.
Modern Bathroom and Refreshing Amenities
The adjoining bathroom was equally spacious. It included a sink, toilet, and a roomy shower enclosure. The shower, fully encased in clear glass, offered two distinct showerhead options. The hotel provided a comprehensive range of toiletries, ensuring a refreshing experience. One minor observation was the absence of a bidet spray, with only a small jet from within the toilet bowl provided.
Leisure and Dining Delights
The hotel's swimming pool is located on Level 7 and is an indoor oasis. Both the main pool and the children's pool are generously sized. A fantastic feature is the extended operating hours, from 8 AM to 10 PM. Complementing the pool area is a 24-hour gymnasium. For younger guests, a Kids Club is also available on the same level, albeit a more compact offering.
Ascending to Level M, above the pool, guests will find the restaurant where breakfast is served. While the breakfast spread wasn't overwhelmingly extensive, the items I sampled were delicious, with the pengat pisang being a particular highlight. My personal experience suggests the quality of the food more than made up for the variety.
Connectivity and Overall Satisfaction
The complimentary in-room WiFi proved to be impressively fast, consistently delivering speeds of around 35mbps. Despite its prime KLCC location, mobile network coverage was a little weaker, likely due to the building's structure. My Tune Talk connection registered 22mbps and CelcomDigi 18mbps. The hotel offers a good selection of TV channels, many in high definition. I was particularly pleased with the water pressure in the bathroom, which was excellent. In-room dining is also available, with reasonably priced options; for instance, nasi goreng was RM45 and fruit juice RM18.
For those traveling by car, ample free parking is provided for hotel guests, a significant perk in this busy area. My personal experience with Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur was overwhelmingly positive. The location is undeniably strategic, nestled between KLCC and Pavilion Bukit Bintang, both within a comfortable 900-meter walk. Strolling to KLCC via the scenic Persiaran KLCC is a delightful experience.
This hotel is perfectly suited for families seeking a comfortable and spacious retreat, especially with the large children's pool. The minor point about the bidet aside, my first stay here has cemented it as a favorite. The brand-new feel and the sheer comfort of the apartment left a lasting impression. Based on my enjoyable first visit, this property is a strong contender for my preferred stays in the city.
