Palm Garden Hotel Putrajaya Review: A Relaxing Staycation & Hotel Tips

A Refreshing Retreat at Palm Garden Hotel Putrajaya

Moving from a Hyatt property to a Marriott one, my recent stay at the Palm Garden Hotel Putrajaya, located within IOI City Putrajaya right next to the Putrajaya Marriott, marked my third visit. I am drawn to its tranquil and uncrowded atmosphere. The hotel has recently undergone refurbishment, making the rooms feel brand new. I booked via Trip.com, securing a Tamera Guest room for RM405, which conveniently included taxes and breakfast for two.

I arrived around 4:00 PM and proceeded directly to check-in. The lobby is quite compact, housing the reception desk and the restaurant where breakfast is served. The check-in process was swift, and I was fortunate enough to receive a complimentary upgrade to a Palm Suite on the 1st floor.

Exploring the Palm Suite

The Palm Suite boasts a generous size of 645 square feet. Upon entry, the kitchenette area is immediately visible on the left. This space features a sink, an electric oven, and appliances for making beverages, including a coffee maker. A mini-fridge is situated within the kitchen area. Adjacent to the kitchen is a circular dining table accompanied by three chairs.

The central part of the suite serves as the living area, furnished with a long sofa and a single armchair, separated by a relatively large coffee table. At the far end of the room, a workspace with a chair faces the lounge area. A 60-inch television is mounted on the wall, opposite the main sofa.

The bedroom is located to the right of the entrance and is moderately sized. It contains one king bed and another 60-inch wall-mounted TV facing the bed. The wardrobe is located in the right corner of the bedroom, next to the entry door. This large closet includes space for hanging clothes, an iron, an ironing board, and the in-room safe.

Bathroom Facilities

The bathroom is spacious, located opposite the wardrobe, and includes a sink, a toilet, a shower area, and a bathtub. Interestingly, the hotel does not provide a bidet spray attachment. The shower space is enclosed by fully transparent glass panels, though the area itself feels somewhat cramped. It offers two types of shower heads. The bathtub is quite large. The hotel supplies a complete set of toiletries.

Additionally, there is a second toilet facility near the main entrance, separate from the primary bathroom, containing just a toilet and a sink.

Leisure Amenities

One of the hotel's highlights is its expansive swimming pool, although it is situated some distance from the main building. Not only is it large, but the main pool is also deep, measuring 1.8 meters. A smaller, secondary pool, suitable for children, is located next to the main one. The pool hours are from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. A gymnasium is adjacent to the pool area, though I was unsure of its operating hours during my stay. I did not visit the pool area this time; readers can refer to my previous reviews for pool photos.

Connectivity and Comfort

The complimentary in-room WiFi offered speeds around 67mbps. For cellular data, CelcomDigi performed at 325mbps, while Tune Talk was faster at 397mbps. The room featured a large TV with numerous channels available in HD. The water pressure in the bathroom was strong, and I particularly enjoyed the shower, despite the tight space. Complimentary self-parking is available but is situated in an open area.

Dining Experience

Breakfast is served in the lobby restaurant between 6:30 AM and 10:30 AM. The hotel offers a diverse breakfast menu. I only sampled a few items, but the fried noodles, in particular, were very tasty.

In the late afternoons, the hotel offers traditional Malay kueh and coffee in the central area of the property.

Final Verdict

This hotel remains a personal favorite due to its atmosphere, which is perfect for unwinding and relaxing. It truly feels like a resort, with a design ideal for those seeking peace of mind. The rooms are not only modern but also clean and spacious. The staff were notably friendly and welcoming. The food quality is good, and the pricing is reasonable. Location-wise, while it is a bit distant from IOI City Mall, a complimentary shuttle bus service is provided.

For those relying on public transport, the hotel is located 10 km from the Putrajaya MRT and ERL stations.

I have included photos of the Palm Suite and the hotel surroundings. If readers wish to explore my reviews of other hotels, please visit my writing space in this group. For a more detailed look into my staycation experience, follow me on Facebook. Thank you for reading!
