A Luxurious Staycation at The RuMa Hotel and Residences in Kuala Lumpur

A Delightful Return to The RuMa Hotel and Residences: My Staycation Experience

This week marked a wonderful return to a hotel I first experienced back in November 2020. If I had to pick my absolute favorite staycation spot, it would undoubtedly be this gem. Nestled on Jalan Kia Peng, it's just a stone's throw away from the iconic Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC). I booked a Deluxe room through Trip.com for RM437.34, a price that included taxes but curiously, no breakfast.

Seamless Arrival and Breathtaking Interiors

I arrived at 12:40 PM and headed straight to the lobby counter. The RuMa boasts some of the most stunning interior design I've encountered in a hotel. The lobby itself is remarkably spacious, housing a restaurant alongside the reception area. Checking in was a breeze – incredibly swift and without any deposit required. My room was ready, so I was promptly handed my access card.

A Spacious and Thoughtfully Designed Deluxe Room

With three swift elevators, waiting time was minimal. My room, located on the 14th floor, was a Deluxe, offering a generous 462 square feet of space. It felt both expansive and incredibly comfortable. The aesthetic was beautiful, with perfectly balanced lighting throughout. Upon entering, a cabinet to the right housed a mini-fridge, beverage-making facilities, and a delightful coffee machine. A thoughtful touch was the provision of complimentary drinks and snacks in this area.

To the left of the entrance, a dedicated space allowed for luggage placement and clothes hanging. Here, I also found an iron, ironing board, and two plush bathrobes. A secure safe was neatly tucked away in a drawer.

Comfort and Elegance in the Living and Sleeping Areas

The sleeping area featured a king-sized bed complemented by a large sofa on the left. A charming, oval wooden table sat at the end of the sofa, complete with a stylish lamp. A comfortable chair was provided for any work or relaxation needs. Opposite this, a 40-inch television was mounted on the wall.

A Luxurious and Expansive Bathroom Oasis

The bathroom door, opposite the foot of the bed, was a large sliding design, though it didn't have a lock. The bathroom itself was impressively spacious, thoughtfully divided into three distinct zones. In the center, two elegant round sinks stood side-by-side. To the right was the toilet area, complete with a convenient bidet hose. To the left, the shower room housed both a handheld and a ceiling shower, alongside a generously sized bathtub. The hotel also provided a comprehensive range of toiletries.

Poolside Views and Pampering Options

The swimming pool, situated on the 6th floor, was quite large and remained open until 9 PM. Adjacent to it was a lovely bar named 'Santai'. From the pool deck, guests can enjoy partial views of the Petronas Twin Towers. On the same level, you'll find a spa offering treatments starting at RM480 and a hair salon with services from RM150.

Exceptional Connectivity and Amenities

The hotel's complimentary Wi-Fi was incredibly fast, clocking in at an impressive 455mbps download and 459mbps upload speeds. For mobile connectivity, CelcomDigi offered speeds around 420mbps, and Tune Talk around 271mbps. A wide array of free TV channels, many in stunning HD, were available. I particularly enjoyed the shower due to the strong water pressure and the ample space.

Dining Delights and Convenient Parking

Breakfast is served at the restaurant on the M floor. While the selection might not be vast, the dishes I sampled were exceptionally delicious. For those opting out of breakfast, it can be purchased for RM98 per person. In-room dining is also available, though prices can be on the higher side, with dishes like Nasi Goreng Kampung costing RM68. For guests arriving by car, complimentary parking is provided.

A Strategic Location and Minor Quibbles

Personally, I absolutely adore staying at The RuMa, though I do acknowledge the price point can be a bit steep, typically around RM600, but it can drop below RM500 during promotions. As I've mentioned, this hotel remains my top recommendation. Beyond its stunning interior design and the genuinely friendly staff, its location is simply unbeatable. Situated between KLCC and Bukit Bintang, it offers effortless walking access to both. Pavilion is a mere 550 meters away, and KLCC is just an 11-minute walk (750 meters). Public transport is also conveniently accessible via KLCC LRT Station (800 meters) or Persiaran KLCC MRT Station (850 meters). My only minor drawback during this stay was the room's acoustics; I could clearly hear conversations from neighboring rooms while walking in the corridor.

As always, I've included a collection of photos showcasing the hotel's many beautiful corners.
