A KLCC Staycation: Reviewing The Manor for Location and Value

The Manor KLCC: A Staycation with a View

My latest escape was to a relatively new residence situated on Persiaran Stonor, conveniently close to the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC). The stunning view of the Petronas Twin Towers was the main draw for this stay. Using the Booking.com app, I booked a one-bedroom apartment for RM252.48. This price, while inclusive of taxes and service charges, did not include breakfast.

Arrival and First Impressions

This residence is managed by Host Crown Suites. Arriving at 2:40 PM, I headed straight to the ground floor lobby. It was spacious but a little bare, featuring just a counter and a few sofas. I waited about 10 minutes for a Crown Suites staff member to arrive. They provided a brief orientation and an access card for the lifts. The building has three lift sections, each with two elevators. My unit was located in Lift Lobby 1, on the 25th floor.

Apartment Comforts

Access to the apartment itself was via a passkey, not the lift card. I was pleasantly surprised to find I'd been given a two-bedroom apartment instead of the one I booked. This was a fantastic upgrade, offering a generous 1,022 square feet of space. As soon as you enter, a well-equipped kitchen is on your right, complete with an electric hob, cooking utensils, two sinks, an electric oven, and a large refrigerator. A door at the far end of the kitchen leads to a utility area housing a washing machine.

In the heart of the apartment, a moderately sized dining table comfortably seats four, with place settings, water bottles, and Nescafe 3-in-1 sachets provided. Adjacent to the dining area is a long table, perfect for working. Towards the balcony, a plush sofa and a coffee table create a cozy seating area. A 40-inch Smart TV is mounted on the wall opposite the sofa. The balcony is quite expansive, offering beautiful views of the Naza Tower and Felda Tower, with the Petronas Twin Towers visible to the left.

Bedroom and Bathroom Details

The second bedroom is located to the left of the entrance and is smaller than the master. It features a king-sized bed, a compact bedside cabinet, a small work desk, and a chair. A door to the right of the bed opens into the second bathroom. This bathroom is also accessible from the living area via a sliding door opposite the dining table. It's a good size, with a sink, toilet, and shower area. Both bathrooms in the apartment are equipped with bidet sprayers.

The master bedroom is situated behind the sofa and is impressively spacious. It contains a king-sized bed with a small bedside table on the right. A large wardrobe stands to the left of the bed, complete with hanging space, an iron, and an ironing board. The en-suite master bathroom, to the left of the bed, is even larger than the second bathroom and includes a sink, toilet, and shower space.

Resident Facilities

The residence boasts a rooftop swimming pool on the 46th floor. While the pool itself is large, the surrounding landscape is rather sparse. This level also houses a gymnasium and a sauna. All facilities are accessible from 8 AM to 10 PM. The pool offers views of another residence, Eaton, which also features an attractive infinity pool overlooking KLCC but comes with a higher price tag.

Connectivity and Amenities

Host Crown Suites provides complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, with download speeds reaching 206mbps and upload speeds hitting 228mbps. Mobile network speeds were a bit slower; CelcomDigi offered 182mbps, while Tune Talk managed 40mbps. The host supplied a Smart TV but no free-to-air channels. Water pressure in the bathrooms was strong. Four sets of toothbrushes and bath towels were provided. To check out, I simply had to place the lift access card in a drawer within the room.

Location and Value

For anyone seeking an affordable apartment in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, this residence is a solid choice. Compared to its neighbors, it offers excellent value. It's situated next to Eaton Residence and just a short distance from the Marriot Executive Apartment and Imperial Lexis. For dining options, I'dahlia Corner food stalls are a mere 100 meters away. Pavilion is 1.1 km from the residence, and KLCC is 1.3 km away. Public transport users will be pleased to know it's only 300 meters from the Conlay MRT station (Putrajaya line).
