A Rewarding Stay at Holiday Inn Sepang: My Fifth Visit
This marks my fifth delightful experience at the Holiday Inn Sepang since its grand opening in August 2023. My most recent visit prior to this was in January, and I was eager to return. For this stay, I utilized the corporate rate available to MAG employees, securing a Standard room for RM249.62. This rate thoughtfully included taxes but did not cover breakfast. Typically, room prices here range from RM300 to RM350, varying with the dates. For those wishing to start their day with a hearty breakfast, an additional RM31 per person is required.
Seamless Arrival and First Impressions
I arrived at the hotel around 3:00 PM and proceeded directly to the reception counter located in the lobby. The lobby, situated on the ground floor, is also home to a welcoming restaurant and a cozy cafe, all on the same level. The check-in process was wonderfully swift, and armed with my room access card, I headed straight to my room on the 9th floor. The hotel boasts four efficient elevators, ensuring minimal wait times.
Comfort and Convenience in the Standard Room
The Standard room I occupied offered a generous 322 square feet of space, feeling quite expansive. Upon entering, to the right of the door, I found a spacious wardrobe. Inside, beyond ample hanging space for clothes, were a convenient iron and ironing board, along with a pair of plush bathrobes. Adjacent to the wardrobe was a cabinet thoughtfully equipped with facilities for preparing hot beverages.
The sleeping area featured a comfortable king-sized bed alongside a generously sized sofa situated to the left of the bed. At the far end of the sofa, a small, rectangular table provided a handy surface. Opposite the foot of the bed stood a long desk, perfect for work or simply spreading out. To the left of the desk, a dedicated chair invited productivity, with a reading lamp positioned overhead. In the central area of the room, a mini-refrigerator and a safety deposit box were readily available. A 55-inch television was mounted on the wall, directly facing the foot of the bed. This time, my room offered a view of the hotel's rear.
A Spacious and Well-Appointed Bathroom
To the left of the room's entrance, the bathroom presented itself as notably spacious. It was well-equipped with a sink, toilet, and a generously sized shower area. The shower enclosure was beautifully framed by fully transparent glass doors, offering a modern aesthetic. A convenient pipe loop was located beside the toilet bowl, and the hotel thoughtfully provided a complete set of bathroom amenities.
Leisure and Fitness Facilities
The hotel features an impressive, large swimming pool situated on the 3rd floor. Alongside the adult pool, there's a smaller, dedicated children's pool. The pool area is open daily from 7 AM to 8 PM. Adjacent to the pool is a 24-hour gymnasium, catering to fitness enthusiasts at any time.
Connectivity and Overall Satisfaction
Inside the room, the complimentary Wi-Fi offered a reliable speed of around 30mbps. For mobile connectivity, CelcomDigi provided an impressive speed of 78mbps, while Tune Talk offered 37mbps. The hotel offers a wide array of free television channels, with most broadcasting in high definition. I was particularly pleased with the strong water pressure in the bathroom, which contributed significantly to my overall comfort.
As echoed in my previous reviews, I thoroughly enjoy staying here due to its prime location. The vicinity is brimming with diverse eateries and convenient convenience stores. Adding to the allure, a shopping mall is just a stone's throw away. The hotel remains in excellent condition, exuding cleanliness and offering a highly comfortable experience. The expansive swimming pool is a definite highlight for guests looking to relax and enjoy a refreshing dip. For travelers heading to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), the hotel's proximity, approximately 12km away, makes it an ideal transit point. The hotel also kindly provides complimentary shuttle services to KLIA for its guests. Shoppers will be delighted to know that Mitsui Outlet Park is a mere 7km drive from the hotel. For those preferring not to drive, the ERL train offers a convenient option, with the Salak Tinggi station located just 2.4km from the hotel.
