Nature's Astonishing Wonders: The Eye of the Storm Within Quang Tri

Prepare to be amazed by a truly awe-inspiring natural phenomenon: the Eye of the Storm found deep within Quang Tri. This incredible sight is a real spectacle within Tien Cave 1, part of the stunning Tu Lan cave system nestled within the Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park. Imagine this: hundreds of millions of years ago, this very spot was submerged beneath the vast ocean. Subterranean currents, encountering an abrupt geological fold, carved out colossal whirlpools. Over eons of Earth's powerful shaping forces, these vortexes left an indelible mark on the rock ceiling, creating the magnificent geological feature we now call the Eye of the Storm. This extraordinary swirl measures nearly 100 meters in height, a scale comparable to a 30-story building. While it might appear smaller in photographs, its real-life presence is utterly colossal and undeniably breathtaking. Even after the ocean receded, the imprint of these ancient whirlpools continued to be refined over thousands of years by annual floods. As water levels rose, engulfing the cave ceilings, they further sculpted this natural masterpiece. Photo credits: Nguyen Hai & Tuan Pham
