Sydney on a Budget: My Weekly Spending Breakdown After 2 Years

My Weekly Spending in Sydney: A Look at Life Down Under

After two years of calling Sydney home, I've found my spending habits have definitely evolved. I'm now much more mindful of balancing my budget and living within my means. So, what does a typical week look like for my expenses in Sydney?

Breaking Down the Costs

Fixed Expenses

  • Accommodation: 230-260 AUD
  • Groceries for home cooking: 50 AUD
  • Eating out: 40-50 AUD
  • Phone plan: approximately 5 AUD (I actively look for annual deals to save money)
  • Household essentials (toilet paper, dish soap, laundry detergent): 10-20 AUD
  • Personal care and supplements (skincare, sunscreen, health supplements): 10 AUD (averaging about 40 AUD per month)
  • Transportation: up to 50 AUD

Variable Expenses

  • Entertainment (outings, gifts, etc.): under 10 AUD (averaging about 40 AUD per month)

So, to sum it up, my weekly spending hovers around 455 AUD, which works out to about 1820 AUD per month. What do you think of these figures?

Smart Money Management Tips

To keep a close eye on my finances, I make it a point to use budgeting apps. Setting weekly spending goals also helps ensure I stick to my budget and avoid overspending.
