Head straight to the right side of the 2nd-floor deck. The 5:30 PM ferry is perfect for capturing the iconic Lujiazui skyline along with the lingering sunset hues. Be warned, avoid the 6:30 PM commuter rush if you prefer not to feel like a sardine!

Utilize a telephoto lens here to compress the sense of space. Frame the Oriental Pearl TV Tower within the archways of the historic Western-style buildings. The light and shadow play is most beautiful around 4 PM.

Experience the surreal contrast between the intricate steel bridge structure and the distant skyscrapers. After the lights come on, it's far less crowded and equally stunning, a hundred times more serene than the main Bund promenade.
Lessons Learned the Hard Way
- Don't waste your money on 120 Yuan tour buses! You'll see the same river views as the 2 Yuan ferry.
- The early morning, between 7-8 AM, is the quietest time. You might even get the entire Bund to yourself.
- The viewing platforms are completely free! Use a navigation app and search for "Bund Viewing Platform" to find them.

Staying at the Hanting Hotel near Nanjing East Road metro station is a game-changer! It's just a 10-minute walk to the Bund, and some rooms offer a glimpse of the Oriental Pearl's spire.
